Can you give some tips for those of who are starting to go gray & want to preserve that hair. I LOOOOVE my grays, but they're more fragile than the rest of my hair.

Can you do a video on putting your hair up for the gym? I struggle to have my hair up securely but not too tight. It has to stay put for jumping jacks but not in the way for floor exercises where you lay down. I'm afraid I'm making it too hard on my hair 4 days a week pulling it up tight on top of my head. Thanks!

„Pool Green“ comes of easily when you rinse your hair with Aspirin. One Aspirin in a glass of water. With that water you rinse your hair. Works for me.

Thank you so much JVN! What about using heat styling on days when you haven't washed your hair? I always use a heat protector when I blow dry my hair. What should I do on day 2 or 3 if I want to heat style with a curler but I haven't re-washed my hair?
@rocklobstah1876Ай бұрын
Hair confession. Age 21, went out and bought my first flat iron then tried to flat iron my hair straight, no heat protector whatsoever having only TOWEL DRIED MY WET HAIR 😮 NOBODY TOLD ME!!
@kaitlincodedАй бұрын
It happens when you just simply aren’t taught any differently! I was probably 14/15 and my younger cousin ALWAYS wanted to heat style my hair. I was always up for someone to play with it- so she’d straighten it, then curl it, or do whatever. I let her do it a lot. And I mean A LOT. I learned way too late about heat protectant anyways, but damn did it ruin my hair for a long time.

I think when I was younger, mistake #1 was my biggest issue. Without having enough years of life to understand, I thought changing my color twice or three times a year was okay. Every day, week, month FEELS longer the younger you are. So I’d get bored quickly and my version of what I thought was “a long time” was not actually a long time. Maybe give some guidelines on this in real time? I am not going to let my daughter make the same mistake when she is in high school… which is when my hair took its worst beatings lol.

Where were these amazing tips when I was 14? lol. I'm learning so much. The ones on color I'm just like oh damn I've done almost all of these. But now it's new tips new me new hair baby!

Hi Jonathan! Is using a heat protectant spray good enough for your hair for sun protection or do you need a specific sunscreen product for hair? If so, what do you recommend? Thanks! Love you!

Is leave-in conditioner good enough for heat protection? I just use a blow dryer, no flat or curling irons
@avril.227Ай бұрын
Look for heat protective spray. Conditioner isn’t heat protective.

I’m always worried my top bun at night is causing strain because it feels like it tugs when I lay down even tho I try to make it loose. I feel like because it’s floppy that’s what makes it cause tension on some strands near the hairline. Is that a thing that can happen or am i being paranoid?
@yenilove5237Ай бұрын
What about hand tied extensions? I’ve had mine in since May of this year.

I can’t even have a loose pony or bun and use the bathroom let alone sleep lol. I use a silk pillowcase and I hang my, hip length, hair over the top of the bed lol
@strawberrykatnzАй бұрын
If you put a bun on the top of your head, it does not give you the lump feeling with the hair tied lower. The top bun will feel the same as what you are doing now but less damage. Like on the very top. I tend to bun my hair up on the front third of the top of my head. Try that! Because I used to have the same issue as you.
@AudreyRoseLawsonАй бұрын
Definitely try a silk/satin bonnet! It’ll keep your hair so smooth and tangle free while u sleep, I have hip length hair also and it’s a godsend I just roll it into a bun shape on top of my head and put a bonnet over it to secure it

Can we go to bed with wet hair as long as it's loosely piled atop the head?
@MissCammiАй бұрын
Putting the hair up while it’s wet, even loosely can cause breakage because of the hair shrinking as it dries and the fragility of it while wet. The other thing is, putting the hair up while it’s wet leaves a portion of the hair that is in the middle of that loose bun wet and sitting atop the scalp. The head gives off a lot of heat, and that, combined with the wet hair directly on the scalp makes for a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and fungus which can cause itching, skin infections, ingrown hairs on the scalp etc. If you can avoid sleeping with wet hair, that is best.

Geez JVN,…I’ve been haunted every night since my 16 year old, geriatric, beloved, fuk head of a dog, recently passed away. One of my dreams / nightmares saw you as the yin to Trumps Yang. Very symbolic indeed. You are the same as him, but on the other side of the coin. Dreadful state of affairs, and anxieties,…and I don’t even reside in the USA, nor have any aspirations to visit or reside.
