This solo work explores an image that is central to all cultures both in daily life and in philosophy: The Flame. Jwala invokes the image of fire: how it moves, what it means, what it gives and takes from us. The same flame that burns is that which illuminates. Its tender fragility separating us from darkness, its tempestuous destruction, and it’s light of hope. The flame as a metaphor connects the essence and quality of our energies to the cosmic, the temporal, and the spiritual worlds we inhabit.
