Like some event challenges are impossible to do without any natlan characters my friends were forced to build Kachina to clear challenges cause he/she didn’t get any of the premium natlan units and how Night soul dmg is required to even clear a single challenge. I'ma be real, I probably would've dropped it too if I didn't get lucky with a x2 Yelan pull when her banner first dropped. Her C1 gives her a second charge on her E and it CARRIED. She has never left my team since. The movement speed alone makes it worth. If I didnt have that little convenience that added up over the years I probably would've dropped it. Edit: Grandpa Smack really out here forgetting how to do math, them numbers do be hard though! Concurrent running is actually the way to go, just not Genshin's way. I think ZZZ 1.4's banner setup (all banners full patch) is objectively better than 3 weeks per banner since it doesn't change the ceiling but lets you choose what side of the floor you start on. The problem with Genshin's implementation is that they're still 3 weeks, which cuts the ceiling height in half while also gatekeeping any bonus rewards for AFTER the new limited characters... Edit starts here: I saw where Gacha Smack doubled down on his take in regards to concurrent limited characters and I gotta say... that one ain't it homie. No shade, I genuinely want to hear your explanation on that take Smack, and not just ragebait deflecting. A legitimate reason why running two limited characters for 42 days is WORSE that running one limited character for 21 days back to back. This is basic math here straight up. And let me be clear, Genshin's method is de-facto the worse implementation, but concurrency itself is not the issue. In fact, it's not even a 21-day split in HSR. It's closer to 22 days for the first character then 20 for the second, so the second half character objectively has less showtime than the first. This isn't even defense of monetization practices, it's literally integers bro. I agree that two new characters at the same time for 21 days is worse than the usual sequential runs because of premium resource competition in that time frame, but running two for 42 days is mathematically superior, and economically the same AT MINIMUM. But hey, when we point out a single flaw in logic amongst all the other valid criticisms, we're just corporate defenders right?

Hsr won't do the double new 5 star at same time that genshin did, however, you will be surprised when you see the 3.0 reruns lol (it's good tho, I rather them rerunning many characters each time that way people don't have to wait that much between two reruns and it avoids situations where a unit disappears for an entire year)

I'll try to explain it to the best of my ability: I think it wouldn't be as bad if HSR were to do ZZZ's implementation (two new banners released simultaneously, but lasting the entire patch) but it still doesn't address the fact that a player would feel the need to pull the other character if they pulled for one - running the first banner on the first half and the second banner on the second half (like what HSR usually does, by separating them) breaks that "need"

I think it's because abit unfair for people who are in short of pulls and being F2P. Imagine Butterfly is coming out soon, and you're absolutely hyped for her. In this case, you got no pulls left so u gotta skip 1 banner before her. However, this change makes her banner comes too early and so far you haven't saved enough pulls. Thus, you have to watch others who have saved pulls or whales getting your fav character early. This will somehow kill your hype over the character.

The login event is always at the beginning of the patch, this is true for all gacha games including hsr, but they delayed them to the lantern rite period. That was intentional, in order to not give resources for the first banner of the patch.

I'm gonna be honest, I was gonna get C2 Mavuika off the bat. Don't care for Citlali as I have Xilonen. Those 20 pulls on the second half will be used toward getting Mavuika on her rerun in 4 patches. I know I should probably uninstall but I do enjoy the game in bits. I was already planning on skipping spending on ZZZ and HSR for a few patches bacuase the characters don't look interesting to me but this sorta solidified no spending for any hoyo game til the summer maybe.
