CvS2 is considered one of the greatest fighters and was beloved even then. There was a lot of competition though as you had arcades with Alpha and Marvel. People did like this game though. The Japanese tournaments are quite interesting since they use a lot more SNK characters and play a bit differently. All of the games (including in that era) have their share of BS on them (V-ism, the four gods, Ken Chun Yun, and A groove but they were also things that were unique and had a lot of love put in them. Here's to hoping for a CvS 3 in the near future.

I remember playing cvs1 a ton cuz they had a cab in the chicken shop in Philly down the road from my house. My buddy Evan was great and I sucked, man when he got the bootleg cvs2... It was awesome. I love this game lol it's matured way better than cvs1 though and I think that's why people like it more now than back in the day when things were a bit more linear for fighting games.
