This is how I've seen it for a week now. Jed is All In on Tucker and Yankees should be doing whatever to add Bellinger the way his bat is gonna play there.

There’s no way you actually believe the Mariners are the ones who need to give up more for the potential Boston trade. Castillo is a proven pitcher who is making around or slightly more than the current pitching market for lesser pitchers. Casas is a primary 1B to likely end up as a DH who hits worse away from the very hitter friendly Fenway park and is coming off (practically) a full year injury. Talking team control, Castillo still has 3 years of control himself. Wild take, Jim.
@seanwalkerfilm2 сағат бұрын
$$$. Boston won’t eat that contract. They need more to justify that.
@BananaSlicesForSureСағат бұрын
@seanwalkerfilm Justify taking on an actual friendly contract? The cubs gave Boyd 29 million for a good 8 start stretch. Luis Severino is making 20 million this year and 25 million next year. Eovaldi just got a 3 year deal worth more than what is left of Castillos deal. Castillo is better than all 3 of those guys. If Boston cannot afford a not really arguable friendly pitcher contract then I don’t even know why they’re looking lol

$24m AAV for 4 years? He out pitched Fried last season and Severino got more, Manaea is projected to get more… you’re kidding right?
@plus790Сағат бұрын
You're joking, homer. He's 32, been in decline, and was a 1.8 WAR pitcher last year...while making $24M.
@BananaSlicesForSureСағат бұрын
@@plus790 “been in decline” guy was a top 5 CY finisher in 2023. 2024 he was still a top 30 pitcher in terms of ERA and strikeouts and was 1 out from being top 30 in innings pitched as well. Just say you don’t know how good he actually is

Cubs have plenty of pieces, but I have seen no reason to think they would pay what it will take to keep him next off-season. I would put the Cubs at the top of the NL Central in '25, but thats not saying much. Just Tucker doesn't make them a top WS threat.

LMAO cope. Roki is an international signing, and all teams have money allocated for those signings specifically. Padres could get him for CHEAP compared to other free agents. Well, any team for that matter.

If the Cubs are looking to reduce salary, then WHT would they want Tucker. They are not going to resign him. I know they will be getting rid of two salaries completely and part of Bellinger's salary buy getting Tucker is a waste.

@carterhawkins113 I agree 💯 but the Cubs don't seem to really a club looking to win. As it stands today, I doubt if the Cubs would resign Tucker. They are just adding Tucker to subtract most of 3 salaries then a forth after 2025. This is a real shame in 26 baseball may have a work stoppage
