I do think on Teoscar, it needs to be said that his bat is also a need for the Dodgers. Their outfield is thin, especially with Outman not panning out. Sure, you might be able to platoon him with Pages, and both do have pop. The consistency is the issue with the two young outfielders. I think they need more time, and right now the Dodgers are thinking "win now." That doesn't leave them with too much time to figure things out with young talent. I'm sure they'll be some time, but you need more consistency if you want to go back to back WS.

If the Orioles miss out on all of the big names, they could be takers on Bellinger. The package I have would be Bellinger and Hoerner to Baltimore for LHRP Coulombe. O's would get batting upgrades at 1B and 2B. The O's 1B OPS is 2024 was tied for 18th at .725 while 2B was 26th at only .628. Bellinger and Hoerner should brings increases of 50 and 100 points respectively while also giving plus level defense. Cubs would get a needed LHRP with good K/BB ratio and free up about 35M, which they'd use on fringe pieces because they are too risk adverse to go after Soto or Burnes on long deals.

With all those guys coming back, there's still question marks. On paper having all these starters come back from the IL means they're fine, but we know that on paper isn't a sure thing. How about Cubs to trade Cody & Isaac for Arenado & Helsley with Cubs eating half of Cody’s contract ? Basically Cubs get Helsley for 14m. So Cubs get 44m for Arenado & Helsley while shipping out 36m, net 8m more for next season which will solve their closer issue. Do you think Cardinals will do it??? Cardinals get 8m salary relief while get a young 3rd baseman and replacement for Goldschmidt.

Until he signs for less, I firmly believe Soto will want more the Ohtani's 700M. The question will be years. 13 years would mean 54M per. 12 years would mean 58.5M. Personally, I'd go longer, given how young he is, and structure a deal that would incentivize Soto to play 8-12 and then opt out after paying him 60ish-85ish% of a 720M deal.
@sonnycorleone260221 күн бұрын
Michael. I agree with you. I am a Yankees fan and hope Soto goes Yankees. But they will have to go 700-750 million I would think to land him! Probably need to have at least one opt out in the deal. You are correct!
@michaelplowman867421 күн бұрын
@@sonnycorleone2602 My personal pitch to him would be 16 years for 720M. That's 45M per. I'd give opt outs after years 4, 8, and 12. The payouts would be 44/46/48/50/52/52/52/52/49/46/43/40/37/37/34/34. by the time you get to the final 4 years, it's 2037, and much of an over pay would 37M be? That's a fair point but teams that don't pay big money for stars don't win. Period money talks in baseball more than any other sports. And baseball isn't a sport where one player can change outcome the angels have not properly built a winning team around Mike trout even with him healthy.

@@MrUnik88 for every Dodgers, there are more teams like Arizona, Brewers, Marlins, Braves, for every Yankees, there are more Cleveland, Houston, Rangers, Twins. Think about all the big spending teams, how much they win? How many WS they win? Yes they are constantly in post seasons, but that’s because they spend so much money that their bottom is very high. I like the way Astros and Braves do, build farm system and develop your own stars, and then add to it as icing on the cake or missing piece, not buy a good team.
