In the real history, the emperor had 7 children with the queen, including the boy born of the concubine in this drama. The emperor married the concubine even before he married the queen. The concubine had the eldest daughters of the emperor, but the daughter even didn’t get the title of princess. In real life, the queen was the true love of the emperor!
@TheCelidon85 Жыл бұрын
This is portraying the concubine was the true love isn't it?
@vickigood7958 Жыл бұрын
@@TheCelidon85 No his true love in this movie is the Empress to the end, as he says on his deathbed when he asks for forgiveness from her and Han. The concubine who he met later in life was more of a comfort person for him as he was dying. He died at 35 and was lonely without the Empress as she was so busy taking care of the state business and the girls gentleness touched him. He told her that she would never replace the Empress in his life but if she wanted to go back with him he would care for her. He loved her in a different way, a dying mans comforter. The concubine forged a love with the Mingi just like the Empress did with Mingi in the end but, the Empress and Emperor both still loved their first love but cared and loved each other as well.

Both this concubine and the king are so selfish and irresponsible. They always do what they want and then let the qeen bear the consequences and responsibility
@vickigood7958 Жыл бұрын
The Emperor only lived about a year after meeting her and he was not able to do anything at the court as he was to sick. He wasn't running around having a exciting life he was struggling to live a day at a time. His mistake was hiding it from Yanyan for so long or she may have made more time for him if she could as she did care and love him in her own way.
@angelabarbee6901 Жыл бұрын
This has to be the most heinous and irresponsible act this concubine could do. She shouldn't have had this child. The queen was already put out having her husband have this concubine and having a love life with her while the queen gave up her life, dignity, choices, and love to be forced to marry this jerk and now betrayed by him and NOW forced to care for this love child ? The emperor really needs to rot in hell. He took that poor girl and molded her to be queen and have his kids and rule instead of him and have her ex bf hang around to see this fiasco unfold and miss her and start a new life with this side chick and insult the queen with how innocent she is. He should have just married the 2nd chick and never married the queen. She should have had the freedom to make her own choices. He knew she didn't love or want him. Let's see if this 2nd innocent chick could have ruled. She is just too stupid and leaves her job to the queen. Very selfish. You want that kid, take care of him yourself.
@loulouwillis5648 Жыл бұрын
He married her because he knew was dying so he groomed her to take care of everything. To me, she fared better than him, and the concubine she had more guts and heart than both of them. It's based on The true Empress who repelled two attacks on her kingdom he chose the right woman to be queen.

@angelabarbee6901 Жыл бұрын
@@goldHydrangeas a little extreme for me but that's not exactly something that didn't occur back then. Honestly common sense says the more bed partners you have and the more offspring you bring from those multiple bed partners the more drama, intrigue, murder, and squabbling/wars happen. There's too much competition for the throne. Supposedly the dynasty ended with the kids. Her dynasty was fair but the kids had that universal problem..everyone wanted that throne. The drama is taken from history so that's her legacy. Personally I think it was the love child that created that mess. Her son had already ascended the throne. No good deed goes unpunished. She should have avoided this whole mess and slept with Han Derang and had a shot gun wedding with a big belly. That should have cooled the emperor's interest in her. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be the sacrificial virgin. Just too much trouble.
@goldHydrangeas Жыл бұрын
@@angelabarbee6901 yeah your virginity should be given to someone you love who loves you back, or it's all meaningless from there on out. If I'm forced to marry some emp who can have concubines then I'll flaunt that I can have my cake (title) and eat it (side consort/true spouse) by my side too. Toodaloo emperor 😝 😂
@anthyavila9726 Жыл бұрын
Well this concubine really is the Emperor's perfect match. They're both irresponsible simpletons who made trouble for everyone else and had no business being near a throne. They both should've been born in some distant peasant village, worked on a little farm, and then wiped out by the plague.
@loulouwillis5648 Жыл бұрын
Such a waste and he probably didn't really love her. With all The Concubines he had she was the one he could relax with that didn't mean he loved her. I'm glad that kind of Slavish mentality is basically over!!
@vickigood7958 Жыл бұрын
He loved her from the first ride with her. That's why he insisted on marrying her even though he kept insisting it was because of her intelligence and political insight that he needed her to be his Empress. He knew he both loved her and needed only her by his side. He also knew he couldn't do everything for his nation he wanted to do because of his health. He needed a strong Empress to carry on when he could not.

This concubine only cared about her pleasure, abandoned her small kid, such a cruel mother. She doesn't want to take up responsibilities as bringing up children is a fully involved and thankless job. She could nowhere come near the queen hence found a silly reason to pass on her burden to the queen.
@catinabox3048 Жыл бұрын
She was depressed and in a lot of pain. Many people in that situation truly and honestly believe that their child is better off without them. To them, it's quite the opposite of selfish. Rather, they believe that the world and their child will have a future only when they're gone, and if that's the case, why linger and make everyone miserable?

Stupid TV drama 😂 story that is not educational and very traumatic in the life of a woman.
@teodora2979 Жыл бұрын
I mean this was how it was in ancient china. So it is educational. Also being a woman in ancient china WAS a bad experience. Woman where considered pawns that could help you move up in ranks. If you happened to marry into a well prestigious family concubines where common. They all where responsible for running the house taking care of the elders and they where expected to have babies which was there main purpose. In ancient china men where considered better because they would carry the family name and pass it on. Woman couldnt do that so boys where considered more important. Its the sad reality of what happened in the past
