As per your video Loans from IMF are playing havoc for Pakistan depending upon environment of our country. However, as per my opinion avoiding loans must be a priority for Pakistan. Pakistan must increase it's exports and counter the problem by itself. Thus taking initiatives for itself than bearing the conditions of a third party! Thanks JWT @Usama Rizwi

It's inevitable to avoid loans for developing countries like ours. We have already drowned so deep in loans that our every department is drenched with it we need to be focused on where to invest and how to put money in a profitable investment. We're in a debt trap which requires centuries to get out 😷

It is mentioned in section 6 of article 4 in Articles of agreement Which allows that any participant to imf fund can purchase and sale or exchange SDR through specialized currencies but one statement is hard to understand like section 7 says a member shall be entitled to repurchase at anytime the Fund's Holdings of its currency? Expain If pakistan has subscribed IMF by paying quota in USD and it have certain SDR reserved in IMF. Can pak claim SDR and claim their conversion in other currencies called basket currencies, but if pak wants to raise its fund holding in IMF what would be meant by this?

Why proverty is increase in the world if imf support to the least /developing economies..Imf is the institute which is used by developed nations to hold the world economy..

I think there is no any check n balance upon imf funds given to developng nations .. most of the funds also end up into debt servicing

IMF role in uplifting economies is totally based on conditions. IMF never deal with needy economies in the absence of strong restrictions. IMF will never work to get Pakistan out of economic turmoil.

@@osamarizvi7083 then, why countries like Pakistan prefer IMF despite of all that loss
@osamarizvi70832 жыл бұрын
The reasons can be multiple. Right now the whole developing world is nearing what the director of World Bank has described as "debt stress". China will be wary of giving money to countries that are near the said level (like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tunisia and other African countries). Also, there might already be some agreements in place and as always there is a limit. Despite all its ills, IMF remains the "lender of the last resort" unfortunately.
