কোভিড সময়ের গান | নিরুদ্দেশের সাথে কথোপকথন | Songs in the time of Covid-19

নব্বই দশকের শুরুতে আমাদের দেশে আসে বিশ্বায়ন, আর ধীরে ধীরে খুলে যেতে থাকে গোটা পৃথিবীর বাজার আমাদের সামনে। বহু বিদেশী জিনিস আমাদের নাগালের মধ্যে আসতে থাকে। খুলতে থাকে আমাদের মন ও সংস্কৃতির দরজা জানালা। আর সেইসব দরজা জানালা দিয়েই সেইসময়ের কিশোর যুবকদের কাছে সহজেই পৌঁছে যায় পশ্চিমি “রক” গানের পসরা। ধীরে ধীরে নব্বই দশকের মাঝামাঝি থেকে সেই “রক”-এর দোলা লাগতে থাকে বাংলা গানের অন্দরে। আসে এক নতুন ঝড় বাংলা গানে নব্বইয়ের শেষ দিকে… “বাংলা রক”, “বাংলা ব্যান্ড মিউজিক”।
এই “বাংলা রক”, “বাংলা ব্যান্ড” ঝড়ের যারা একেবারে শুরুর দিকের কান্ডারি বা যোদ্ধা, তাঁদের মধ্যে অনেকেই এখনো আছেন বাংলা গান-বাজনায়। কিন্তু অনেকেই আবার সময়ের নিয়মে, জীবনের নিয়মে ছিটকে গেছেন বাংলা গানের আসর থেকে, পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে। এই ছিটকে যাওয়াদের মধ্যে তিনজনকে আমরা একসঙ্গে পেয়েছি এই আলোচনায় নিতান্তই ভাগ্যক্রমে, আর কিছুটা বন্ধুত্বের টানে। তবে আলোচনার বিষয় শুধুই “বাংলা রক”, “বাংলা ব্যান্ড” আর কৈশোর যৌবনের নস্টালজিয়া নয়। বরং বলা ভালো এই আলোচনার মূল বিষয় তাঁদের নতুন গান নতুন এলবাম “নিরুদ্দেশের সাথে কথোপকথন”।
নব্বইয়ের শুরু থেকে শুরু করে “বাংলা রক” মিউজিকের সাফল্যের পথ অতিক্রম করে দীর্ঘ ৩০-৩২ বছর জীবনের নানা অলিগলি ঘুরে, পৃথিবীর তিনপ্রান্তে থাকা এই তিন বাংলা গানের শিল্পী (যোদ্ধা) আমাদের উপহার দিয়েছে নতুন পাঁচটি গান, তাঁদের এই নতুন এলবামে। গানগুলো তৈরী হয়েছে কোভিডের সময়ে, সেইঅর্থে বলা যায় গানগুলো ‘কোভিড সময়ের গান’। যদিও স্রষ্টাদের দাবি এগুলোর মধ্যে তিনটি গানের বীজ বপন হয়েছিল সেই নব্বইয়ের মাঝামাঝি।

Globalisation came to our country at the beginning of the nineties, and the markets of the whole world were slowly opening before us. Many foreign things keep coming within our reach. The doors and windows of our minds and culture began to open. And through those doors and windows, Western "rock" music easily reached the teenagers and youngsters of that time. Gradually, from the middle of the nineties, the wave of "rock" began to be felt in Bengali music. A new storm came in Bengali music in the late nineties… “Bangla Rock”, “Bangla Band Music”.
Now, some of the artists of this "Bangla Rock" and "Bangla Band '' storm are still present successfully in Bengali music. But many had to choose other ways of life leaving the so-called Bengali music scene. Here we got three of these castaways together in this ‘adda’ purely by luck and a bit of camaraderie. The topic of discussion is not only “Bangla Rock”, “Bangla Band” and teenage nostalgia but the main topic of this discussion is the new songs from their new album “Niruddesher Sathe Kothopokothon” (Conversation with The Unknowns).
Starting from the beginning of the nineties, these three Bengali singer-musicians, after crossing the taste of success of "Bangla Rock" music and walking on the lanes and bylanes of life in three different parts of the world for 30-32 years, have given us five new songs in their new album. The songs were made during the time of Covid-19, which means the songs can be said to be 'songs of the Covid time'. Although the creators claim three of these five songs were seeded in the mid-nineties.
