That's normal. My Indian mom-in-law flew all the way from US when I was about to give birth. I didn't want her with us but she invited herself. I was so stressed when she was here. And yes, she's a vegetarian and I'm not. I felt like she flew here to make sure that her son is fed well while I was busy with my baby. No, I didn't like the idea of her being here. I don't hate her. I just felt that such a special time getting to know our baby was ruined by her presence.

Let’s be honest. They both settled for each other. The lady is nowhere near the Korean beauty standards and she is old. She was afraid of getting older before she has a baby. At first I thought she was the maternal grandma. She looks like an ajumma. Not many Korean women will even consider marrying an Indian guy (ie racism in Korea against SEAs is real). In India, the guy would never marry a women 12 yrs his senior. He needed citizenship. They were both desperate to marry. He does not behave like a man in love - with his wife or his child. The age gap means nothing, and the daily struggle to look after a baby, work, and take care of a home is something most couples go through - together!! He is not involved in any of it, all he does is go to the grocery store, and work out - it is all about him still, like any young and SINGLE man. Married men look after their children (why is such a big strong man not carrying his own baby??), and they don’t ignore their wife’s struggles and sleep… I have no issue with a wife taking care of her husband, it is what we do when we love - but I have an issue with it when the husband does not take care of the wife or the baby in a reciprocal relationship - it is so one-sided, he is selfish, and I really don’t think he knows what love is…how can he not love his own child. I don’t understand. Indian men can be patriarchal about “women’s chores”, so they often don’t clean, but I have seen many cook very well, and most of the ones I know love their children, girls and boys, and they are proud of them, they have no issues holding and carrying their own babies, bathing them, dressing them, feeding them, playing with them - these men usually have strong family values, although they often don’t really understand or agree with feminism 🤷‍♂️🙈 The Indian men I know adore their mothers too, and although mom does take care of the sons, the sons usually look after their mothers too, and do their best to lighten the burden…
