first of all welcome!! i’m sure you won’t regret joining the fandom! and yhhh their impact of people drew me in closer. i went form being a fan who loved their songs and all the members to trying to live by the things bts have taught me like self love. as a 15 year old, i feel like you get judged a lot by others. your friends judge you for not being good enough or your parents judge you for not doing as well as a friend on a test or just feeling like society is watching you and ready to judge you on every mistake but bts have honestly changed all those negative thoughts into pure positivity. i see the world in a much brighter light and they’ve helped so many people and have inspired me to help others the way they have. i have no musical talent whatsoever but i’m motivated to try and help others in a way that i’m good at and i know a few people who feel the same way. i hope you have a great time learning more about bts and remember not to be afraid of being judged for liking them cos i know there are still those stereotypes but bts loves you and army are always here for you

I am adult ARMY, my daughters are in their 20s and I am married. None of them like BTS or Kpop and don't understand why I love them so much. I could never get them to watch this even if I begged. I really don't mind them not understanding. My daughters say the reason they won't like it is because I am so obsessed with them and they have never seen this type of reaction to anything from me. So I feel that because their mom likes it so much they will never get into it. Both my younger daughters have go to the movie theater with me to watch Bring the Soul and a concert. Because of the language barrier and their unwillingness to understand they didn't get the meaning or concept. I am happy with loving them alone in my house, they will either come around or not. I am ok with it either way. I have other ARMYs from around the world that I can express my love with and that is fine by me.

This was really great! I'm a Brazilian teacher and a PhD student and frequently I have to hear people mocking about my interest for BTS. It is definitely different the impact they have on their fandom. To me, their lyrics are the most important, I always listened to songs that are personal. Songs that shared the feelings of the singer so it was really easy to like specially the oldest songs of BTS, and I have to include the Agust-D (SUGA alter ego) songs too. I think the prejudice is what back off the people to enjoy even more their songs.

I'm 59 years of age and I agree with Dr. Lee's theory and analogies. I have only started listening to BTS a couple of months ago and really got drawn in by their music, choreo., style, but mostly their message to young people. During watching documentaries and interviews I became so enthralled in the message of positivity, loving yourself, race, culture, etc....besides being a Christian I also learned it was great to hear such affirmative message on difference, and self identity and just being who you are and finding your path and how to use what you're going through to help someone else going through the same thing. This discussion also made me realize that social media is expansive and it's the new way to form news cultures, attitudes, societal norms depending on how we use it. I don't believe the older generation takes these things into consideration or understand the importance of today's technology. I've learned to appreciate and truly admire BTS and their message and after listening to this video it has given me a greater respect for these young men. It's never to late to teach an old dog new tricks and open our eyes to our youth of today and get involved with them and their problems, troubles, and the challenges they are having, you don't need technology for that just love. It's truly lovely to see this and wish the world could change for the better and I hope BTS will set a greater trend for other after them to let the global population realize we're all different, but one with many of the same problems. Thank you Dr. Lee for such an informative in-site to such a spectacular group of men. God Bless from Texas, USA.

“They all have the same passion and have the same values, I think we should take some time to think about those values, and what they have to tell us.” Now this is the attitude everyone should share. If only people would just stop and listen instead of jumping to conclusions about them and their fan base. This entire talk session was constructed so well, thank you so much to this teacher and Army for doing a deep dive into the world of BTS. Thoughts: The main reason why Army is such devoted a strong fandom is because the effort we put in and feelings we show is reciprocated by Bangtan Therefore It’s not hysteria, it’s not madness, it’s not stupidity when it is regarding our fandom, it is love for our artist and all the characteristics that are associated with it; support, comfort, happiness.. These seven men will go down in history as legends, for changing and uniting the world. Army along side them. I hope they realise how they have done so much for their country but not only their country the world. Well at least they have changed my world..

Coming here in May 2024 because all of this still holds true and Armys' love and protectiveness for BTS has only amplified each year. Just like we survived, thrived together, handled all the negativity and protected and supported BTS in 2015 and 2018, we'll continue to do it in 2024 and weather this storm together. BTS is a huge part of my life, their impact has made me happier and so much more passionate about my life. I'm here for them today, tomorrow and forever 💜

I'm literally crying while watching this. BTS is really the only artist I know who wanted their fans to do what is right, to love and believe themselves and start a "revolution" to make the world a better place by helping one another. I've met so many great people in Twitter because of bts. Btw, I'm a teacher and everytime my students ask me what I saw with bts I'll always tell them, choose an artist who will make you feel you are loved. Choose an artist who will push you to become the better version of yourself not just an artist who describes the feeling of this and you kinda relate to it so you'll like their songs and hence you'll like the artist as well but choose an artist who can do so much more than that. BTS's music literally changed me. They healed me. And I can't thank God enough for giving me these 7 angels. 💜 Bangtan borahae. Army borahae.

No. Sorry, I'm sure other fandoms in K Pop feel the same about their favorite groups. ARMY and BTS don't hold a monopoly on who is the better motivator and artist in K Pop and the rest of the world. If you need a boy group to help you with your personal problems and issues, then there is a bigger problem going on at home and need the attention of a therapist or counselor. Isn't this also putting too much pressure on the group itself having all these fans rely on them for mental help? At the same time, these fans can be overly obsessive about their devotion to BTS. That is not good either.
@bernzZz3 жыл бұрын
@@kguerr197 I've said that, "bts is the only artist I know" I didn't mean to put it in a way other artists do not put deeper meanings on their songs or that they aren't sincere in what they are doing. And I think relying once mental health on a boy group depends on a person. I love them but I don't solely rely my mental health on them. I don't speak for everyone here.
@melaniea15143 жыл бұрын
@@kguerr197 No. Sorry. What ᄏᄏᄏmochyyinbusan doesn't need is someone to come here and twist her words and purposefully misinterpret her meaning because they want to stir up trouble. You are assuming things she never said. She said they are the only artist SHE knows, etc... She also didn't say she needed them to help her with her personal problems. You assumed that. It's well known that music can heal people. Your comments imply that you obviously are not a real BTS fan and do not understand their message. You might want to do some self-reflection as to why you feel the need to attack someone else's positive message about something they love.

I am very late to this as I only discovered BTS in Nov 2023 and am working my way through all their discography, the documentaries, concerts, the BU etc. This made me think about why I connected with BTS while I was laid up in my room recovering from an operation and a bout of covid. I am nearly 67 and live in Australia. As a young person attending university in the mid 1970s my favourite music was folk music and protest songs of the 60s and 70s highlighting issues such as war, poverty, free speech, racism, apartheid, refugees and social injustices. My tastes haven't changed that much, though I have added other music but these are still my core love - though in the typical way things are in the Western english speaking world these were pretty much all from artists in the US or England which were mostly what we had access to back then. We have so much more to discover now and the luxury of subtitles to allow us to enjoy music from all around the world, but still we gravitate back to our comfort zone most of the time. I realise that BTS and their lyrics are really what drew me to them (as well as amazing music, dance and visual appeal). They really resonate with me in much the same way as those protest songs of my youth.

Thank you for this. Being a 48 year old Army isn't easy. Having real love for 7 guys from Korea that dont know I exist brings a lot of hate my way. But I will never stop supporting and loving Bangtan. They are everything good in this world. I will go to my grave supporting and loving them. They are no different from my children when it comes to being protective and loving them. Even though others may not understand it does not matter. I understand, BTS understands and my fellow Army understands and thats enough for me. I just want everything good for the 7. I always want them happy and healthy. I hope they know they are loved by so many of all ages and races. I hope someday to thank them in person for being a shining light in a often dark world. I hope we are their Light as well when times are hard for them. They give so much to us. I wish I could give them the same back. But I cant. So instead I share their message with others, fight for them in the pits of hell called American Radio and promote their albums to people. Its all I can give them and all I can do to show them I appreciate them for all they have done for Army. They make me feel young and alive and I am forever thankful for them. BTS is Army, Army is BTS forever.

But another part of me cries because they are finally being appreciated even in their own country. BTS is deeper than just love, music, and good looking faces. They are a whole movement. They are role models, friends, relatable, humble, kind, live by setting good examples, and they are boundary shattering. They break so many records and stereotypes. I am honored to be alive during this movement and I cannot wait to see what else they achieve. 💜 Borahae. Also! I am so, so happy they used the Italian Spring Day explanation video!
