In a world where people are lonely, seeing a group of young people getting together to sing and have a great time is so refreshing.

You know what, what initially made me fall in love with BTS was not BTS themselves but the fans and their stories of why they love BTS. After reading countless posts from fans all over the world, the one common thing they all said is “BTS saved my life” through their music because the lyrics spoke to them, and they could relate and they felt they were being heard. Then I started listening to their songs because I wanted what the fans wanted, healing… and it worked.

Why have I only found this documentary now??? This was so well made. It's lovely to see Army all over the world uniting to celebrate BTS and Hangeul, and I especially appreciate the feature on the translations teams, Bangtan Subs and Claire, who have been such a lifeline for non-Korean-speaking fans. I've been casually learning Korean ever since I discovered BTS three years ago, and am now taking proper lessons. I'm still only at elementary level, but even knowing a little bit really helps in appreciating their song lyrics, their conversations, their messages - and also in watching Kdrama. I've been watching Kdrama even longer than I've been an Army, and while it's impossible to learn a language just by immersing yourself in it, I can definitely say that it's useful. You get so familiar with the sound of the language that when you learn the finer points of the grammar, it's more like remembering than learning from scratch. What's hard is learning alone. I'm envious of those who have Army friends to talk and practise Korean with. It looks like so much fun!

Great documentary! I’m an ARMY but my interest in the korean language came from kdramas. They show so much food and such beautiful sights that the first thing I do is research where is was filmed then write it down on my list of places I will go to when I visit and eventually move to Korea. A lot the culture reminds me of the hispanic culture so I find great comfort in learning about it and feeling a deeper connection to it. Nothing more beautiful than people appreciating, respecting and embracing a new culture.

I absolutely love this! I would one day love to learn Korean. It is a very beautiful language. 15:10 Side note: If you study the etymology of English and how it developed you know that much much thought was put into it. It is a very structured language.

I really like this documentary but the problem I have with BTS fans learning Korean is that it’s on a superficial level. I haven’t heard many actually keep actively learning the language other than the reading and writing.
@tangelineforever2 жыл бұрын
There doesn't need to be a some great, thoughtful, meaningful reason to learn Korean or any language or learn anything new. If BTS is the reason alot of people want to learn Korean and it causes them to want it learn more about the culture and history of Korea (South Korea only or North and South historical origins) then good. If they just want to learn Korean because they want to understand the meaning of BTS' songs and sing along at concerts then that okay too. It's okay not have a deeper meaning to why. People are experiencing something new to them and enjoying the experience as they learn while feeling good about it without malicious reasons. If people do have malicious intent then they have deeper problems than learning Korean will solve.

True I'm also learning but I'm like taking it super slow cuz I'm dumb ASF 😅 like I couldn't read that well but I can write and idk if it's me but whenever I understand a word in Korean I feel so smart :')

can i share my theory about why the entire world is obsessed with Korea now????? Korea is in danger of extinction with the lowest birth rate in the world and the country has a RICH shamanic history before christianity and the magical nature of the land is calling on the citizens of the world to come to Korea and marry Koreans and have babies. like i never thought about dating Koreans before because they mostly stay with themselves in my city so i never really knew many well but now i would dreammmm of dating a Korean. and its the same for so many people i know. we all suddenly are obsessed with Korea. i dont even listen to BTS but i only watch Korean content now, like i dont even watch shows in english anymore..
