"Claimbodia" is the land of claiming and jealousy, claiming everything in Thailand,. You can count : architecture, food and desserts, Muay Thai, traditional Thai dancing, Khon, traditional Thai costumes, literatures (e.g. Pra Apaimanee, Sang Thong, etc.), shadow play. As a matter of fact, Thailand in the ancient time had some influences from Ancient Khmer Empire , but later, Thailand or Siam has developed its own culture and art in its own way and uniquely. The ancient Khmer kingdom has deceased for centuries. The present Khmer has NOTHING from the past to develop in its way. They used to be colonized by Thais for a long long time. These are the reasons why Thai culture has large influences on present Cambodia. In the past, A Thai king used to send dancing teachers to Cambodia to teach them. At that time, Khmer poets also translated famous Thai literatures into the Khmer language, for example, Ramakian (Ramayana or Ramakerti in Khmer version), Pra Apaimanee, Sang Thong, etc. They are not even ashamed to claim that these literatures were composed by the Khmer poets. They also claim that Sunthorn Phoo (the most famous Thai poet) is a Khmer poet. Therefore, it's not surprising that the Khmer, at the present, claim everything from Thailand that everything in Thailand belongs to their country. Poor Khmer! Due to lack of education and poverty, they see the neighboring country (Thailand) has flourished on the eye of jealousy. Even today, they never know themselves how much Thai influence affects their daily lives by seeing Thai media and dramas on TV and consuming Thai goods everyday. They never develop their arts and culture by themselves. The best and easiest way that they can do is "claiming" that Thailand copied everything from them. On the contrary, it's the FACT that they, "the Claimbodian'' copied everything from Thailand. Shame on you, Claimbodia!! This country name deserves you, indeed.
