Hello brother . I have a question . I have never used this brand of excavator. Do you know if the cost of repairing and maintaining this brand is more or less than Volvo or Caterpillar?

The cost of repair and maintaining, we need to break down into different components. First the engine, Hidromek is using isuzu from Japan, generally isuzu is cheaper to rebuild than volvo and caterpillar engine. Next is hydraulic pump, Hidromek is using Kawasaki, assemble in UK, volvo is using volvo pump but it is just a label, they are actually Kawasaki, assemble in Korea. The cost of repair is similar but the lifetime and quality build of Kawasaki standard is better in UK than Korea. CAT is using Rexroth, the cost of repair is usually more than Kawasaki. Undercarriage, Hidromek is using 49 link undercarriage and 9 bottoms rollers so to repair Hidromek is higher than CAT and Volvo, but the lifetime is more with 9 bottom rollers, it can support the link better and operator would feel better stability. Electric components like control box and monitor, hidromek is cheaper than CAT or Volvo The lifetime of the undercarriage frame, boom, arm, bucket of Hidromek is higher with better steel grade from Turkey. CAT new version next gen does not have pilot pump, so it will be less to maintain with no repair cost for pilot pump and also no need to change pilot pump filters.
