I think its cool that Dave Ellefson coming from Megadeath doing complex music honored the priest bass riffs of Ian Hiil. He set his personal playing aside and played the songs correct without feeling he had to overplay. Tons of respect he seems like a cool dude as well.

It’s so cool to see how passionate Tim is singing this stuff. Sounds amazing. I put him up there with the top metal singers of our time. It’s the ultimate tribute and highest compliment anyone could pay, to what Rob Halford and the band created. Amazing idea KK to get this together, who’s ever it was. I think a full tour is in order.
@zach79485 жыл бұрын
Strictly my two cents here. Based on finally getting to hear him sing live over the summer, and bootlegs and live DVDs too, I think Tim has never been more comfortable on stage and behind the microphone. He'd be hitting an incredible peak as a singer if he had gotten the chance to front a band for decades like so many of our metal heroes did.
@ADarkandStormyNight4 жыл бұрын
I agree. Ripper has one of the best metal voices ever, I just wish he had found the right band to back him. It pains me to admit it, but he is often better than the original vocalist in his covers and they are often heroes of mine.
@danielwildeboer13823 жыл бұрын
I doubt Rob would sing this song as well as Ripper these days. And I say that even though Rob is my favorite vocalist of all time. I think Ripper deserves a lot more attention than Rob currently, because he already had his share of the cake and Ripper can offer a lot of fresh stuff with KK Downing.
@danielwildeboer13823 жыл бұрын
My only criticism of Ripper is that he doesn't seem to value his solo work very much, and he prefers to participate in many bands and projects - this ends up making his work and talent a little trivial in my opinion. I mean, I really like his band Beyond Fear, but he didn't take it further, and he did the same with his solo career.
@danielwildeboer13823 жыл бұрын
Paul Di Anno ended up taking the same way before Ripper. I mean, he had excellent bands like Battlezone / Killers, and Di Anno, but he ended up not valuing his own work and being persistent with only his own thing. These guys (Paul and Ripper) should learn from Blaze Bayley who really believes in his own work and remains very productive only with his stabilized solo project, even though he doesn't have as many fans, but the little one values it a lot. I say that as a constructive fan criticism because these guys could offer a lot with something more established and consistent. But now with KK Priest I believe that Ripper is in the right place.

KK belongs back in Priest- if not he should tour with this lineup. I will definitely get tickets. Seen Priest many times since 1980. I went to both tours with Ripper, in a small venue in San Diego. I thought he nailed the vocals- though he lacked Halford's magnetic stage presence- and sounded great. Very impressed by the video I've seen! Wish I'd have been there!

Ken is truly underappreciated as a heavy metal guitarist and a founding member of Judas Priest. The Priest just isn't the same without him. Looking forward to some new music from KK's Priest. \m/
@shellwalsh33173 жыл бұрын
That's so true. JP never played Before the Dawn. Ken wrote the music & I've loved it since about 84'. I'm in my 50's ♀️& was nuts over KK. The only true JP era for me is from 74'-92', & saw them live a few times. I was set w/ passes to meet KK 🔥 & whole band but I only met Rob (which was great), but was so upset I never met Ken😩. Check out "KK's Priest"..album just dropped 10/1. It's a bit too frantic but I do like 1/2. I really admire Ken for his stamina at 70‼️..I'll always appreciate/admire him for his music

Before the dawn I hear you whisper In your sleep don't let the morning take him Outside the birds begin to call As if to summon up my leaving It's been a lifetime since I found someone Since I found someone who would stay I've waited too long and now you're leaving Oh please don't take it all away It's been a lifetime since I found someone Since I found someone who would stay I've waited too long and now you're leaving Oh please don't take it all away Before the dawn I hear you whisper In your sleep don't let the morning take him

I don't know how this flew under my radar but damn this made me so happy!!! I can sort of understand Judas Priest being reluctant to bring in the old when a recent stint of new blood has given them much needed energy, and if there's some old beef with management (man, this is some pure Spinal Tap stuff come to thinking of it!!!) then these things happens... I now hear something happening as KK's Priest and if I had a choice of going to only one concert I would choose K.K. every day of the week!
