Monjbabu was with the Left ill 1978.He turned coat in 1978 and came close to TMC. In 2018 he faced an evection suit which he lost. He contacted Mamata Banerji with the expectation that as he was with TMC Mamata would intervene . But the land lord was a rich man and the matter ended there. His play Sajano Bagan is historically wrong . Though movie was a box office success. The story of drama and movie centres round Provisions of Permanent Settlement of 1793. In the play he contended that act of Permanent Settlement was promulgated for welfare of rayats . Mitra established this propaganda of Lord Conwallis. But history says the Settlement demolished the age old Land -Man Relation of Bengal. Result is a permanent state of femine here. Monojbabu did not care for facts and history.
