Kĩng'oi - Ke Ngwĩtĩkĩrie (by J. Kamarũ)

The late Joseph Kamarũ was a prolific singer-songwriter whose career spanned the 60's to 2018.
In his long creative journey, he composed and produced thousands of songs. His works chronicled the events of his times, describing life under colonialism, celebrating independence, expressing dismay at the betrayal of the freedom fighters, articulating the essence of Gĩkũyũ traditions, and all the while depicting the drama of the love between men and women.
This instrumental reproduces one of the songs about a dying love affair. The man cannot understand why she left him, and is begging for just one night with her, even if he'll be a spectator in her new life.
All rights for the original music, the melody and lyrics, belong to the Joseph Kamarũ estate. My sole interest is to honour our creative heroes and place them on the pedestal they deserve.
