Any update on it scratching your wheel cover or rims? Tesla does recommend taking off the cover

Only used them once, didn't notice anything scratched

Yes for me

good luck with it! K-Summit is the only chains you should use if you don't want scratch on rims. the damage on rims may cost more than the chains itself...lolz

So what was all the stuff in the bag for?

Did you ever get to test them in the snow? Curious how your traction, especially when turning would test with chains just in the back.

Thanks for the detailed review. I am debating between getting these (mainly due to durability) vs. getting the autosocks. Do these scratch the rims?
@BazzarRepairs Жыл бұрын
Nope, didn't scratch the rims when I used them.

I’ve seen a whole post where they scratched these wheels pretty badly even with the rubber protectors.

@@ExcMARK20916 i think that if they are very lose wen you put it on, or misalligned, they may slide across the tire when it spins. which will scratch the rims/guard. However if they are decently put (like i have done multiple times) they will not scratch as they will be snug tightly on the tire and will rotate with them.

What were the plastic round pieces? What was that other small metal clip in the smaller plastic bag?
@BazzarRepairs Жыл бұрын
I didn't find anything in the manual explaining what it was.

@@BazzarRepairs I put my chains on today. Turns out the instructions say to put the plastic pieces at 9 chain points to prevent possible rub marks on tire or wheel cover. It does say this is optional. Also the little extra chain links are to extend the distance of the red hook on top of the tire if needed. Instructions are useful.

@@FrostElement Thank you for this.

@@BazzarRepairs FYI, these are a MUST for Teslas if you value your wheels. Otherwise the metal part of your chains will rub against them and ruin your mags/rims.

So you just need to put on the two back tires?
@BazzarRepairs Жыл бұрын
Yes, for AWD and RWD cars. If you have a front-wheel drive car, then put it on the front wheels.

Bring two building blocks and put whatever tires your putting chains up on the blocks. Will make your life so much easier. Great video.
