Kenigsberg the city which disappeared. Kenigsberg is forever dead. To the Kenigsberg were planted three fatal wounds. 1, The attack on Kenigsberg 1944-1945. 2, Replacing of the native population. Stalin nowhere in occupied countries uproot the native population. He made it only in East Prussia. Every such country has become Soviet or socialist or both socialist and soviet at once and so can survived to the end of Cold War. Only East Prussia and Kenigsberg they will never more rise from the dead. 3, Fifty years of Soviet socialism. No more rise from the dead this poor poor and unfortunate city. But the Kenigsberg should become an example for the entire Europe that be no more similar tragedy don't repeat and that we don't have to mourn for the other European metropolis and the other European nations,

Georg Xabada - Ehem, Germans werent exactly native in East-Prussia. They stole the lands of native baltic people in middle ages after some ethnic cleansing and crusades, but germans did actually build the city of Königsberg. Also the Karjala + Salla-Kuusamo areas (and Petsamo) taken from my country Suomi ("Finland") was the ethnic population replaced by russians and belorussians by Stalin after Soviets took the areas from my people. However in these cases the population of these areas was evacuated by my countrys own government and the did want to go back but this was unable because soviets occupied the areas. The Petsamo area was owned by my land for only a short time bur the native sami people were also evacuated from there when Russia took the area after war.

@@turkoositerapsidi it is true, German history in East Prussia 'only' goes back to the 12th century AD, when German settlers were called in by the authorities to colonize the country. They subsequently subjugated and mixed with the local baltic population, the Prusai, to the point that they adopted their name. That could hardly be used as a justification to expel their descendants some 700 years later.

A lot of towns in the 2. world war suffered horribly, but only Königsberg have to paid the prize of highest, because 2. world war wiped this town from the surface of the earth forever. Similar to ancient antic town Troy, or similar biblical Sodom and Gomorrah. Miserable and poor poor Königsberg. How great must have been his sin? At least that I can now walk through its streets by KZbin videos and to see as it was nice and noble. I'm in the previous century many many times dreamed about it, to walk over this old town and to see as looked its streets, castle, churches and gardens and I never can't even to imagine, that in the future, over of a many many years, thanks to the computers and science, my dreams come true and I still can see the true beauty and noble of Mons Regius.

Georg Xabada Kenigsberg was the spiritual seat of Prussian power, the entire German Realm was based on the foundation of East Prussia. The wiping of Kenigsberg off the map was the symbolic end of Germany as a real country. Germany is now just another country in the globalist American bloc. The only one with the power to restore Germany to its rightful place is America, but its geostrategic interests don’t favor that.

@@TheLocalLt Well, the wiping of Koingsberg was planned by Stalin himself in revenge for burning and annexing of some western Soviet cities by the Germans. He kicked out all Germans from Koinsberg cos the Germans expelled people from their cities and replaced with German settlers in the western part of the Soviet Union. The Poles did the same in three German cities west of Koinsberg for the same manner. This was agreed at Potsman conference in July 1945.

It was said that they destroyed the city in revenge for their cities which had been destroyed by the Nazis during their invasion of the Soviet Union and murdering the people there. here it is, European education. Prussia was a province of the Russian Empire from 1758 to 1762, but due to the sympathy (betrayal) of Peter III to Frederick II, the territory of the Russian Empire was ceded to Prussia. Bastard, gave the Russian honor and blood for the sake of the "enemy"! For this, the darling of fate and lost the throne of the Russian Empire, and then life. From 1945 to today. Kaliningrad is also Koenigsberg, a member of the USSR and now the Russian Federation. All the “Prussians” were peacefully (almost without loss) resettled in East Germany, where they continue to live. Kaliningrad is a Russian city. Not Prussian, not German, not Polish! And only Russian. Therefore, dreamers, wind up snot and stop dreaming about the glorious Russian city of Kaliningrad. My grandfather made him Russian, and I, for this territory, as part of a single grouping of Russian troops, kick your horns! Do you have any questions, do nations conduct parade of gay?

Kaliningrad:: The second world war cost a lot of lives of military military and civilian lives to the Soviet Union. Many German war criminals were not punished in the eastern front, as most German prison guards and other soldiers agreed to join communist parties in their home villages in Germany. Only those Nazi soldiers who admitted to extensive war crimes were jailed till 1955 and released. After ww2, Soviet Union wanted an ice free port town to keep an eye on militarily over ambitious Germany. Only region of Germany the Russians of Imperial Russia of the Romanov era had a claim of past ownership to, was Kaliningrad (Konigsburg). Medieval templar knights owned Kaliningrad for about 500 years, Germany owned Kaliningrad for about 900 years, WHILE Russia owned Kaliningrad for all of 6 years in about 1775 at about the time of American independence. See the battle of Eylau, in Kaliningrad in historical battles between Russia and Napoleon in Eylau, Kaliningrad in youtube, for ownership of kaliningrad. When Russia owned Kaliningrad in about 1777 or so, a Kaliningrad German civilian delegation visited Saint Petersburg to have an audience with the king, met the czar and requested the Czar to make a part of German province, as Russia was already big. The Czar agreed, and Russian troops and civilians vacated Kaliningrad in about 1780 or so, give or take a decade, or two. So all three groups have a right to visit Kaliningrad, including the templar knights and Germany and Russia.

A good film . A very good film . But . What a world ! Where Adolf Tortilowitz von Batocki Friede , Abel Ehrlich , Volker Lechtenbrinok , beate Uhse ( :-) ), Marie Sharan as well as Patrick White und Humboldt , Kathe Kollwitz und Thomas Mann used to stroll , now the off-springs of in-settlers of belarus, the ucraine as well as russia... Everything what is Ok here is German made . This is what I write to the videos of Königsberg : Königsberg had been creating famous people of great Importance , as : Regiomontanus : mathematician Cathleen Brandenburg ,Princess of Transsylvania Chr. Goldbach: mathematician Leonard Euler: mathematician Immanuel Kant : philosopher E.T.A. Hoffmann : writer , author G.H.L. Hagen : physicist G. R. Kirchoff: physicist K.R.König: physicist Otto Wallach chemist D. Hilbert : mathematician Erich von Drygalski : discoverer A. Sommerfeld: physicist Agnes Miegel: physicist Fanny Lewald: physicist H.A.Winkler : historian And no any russians , because russians are only russians . Many russians live on importing western made cars here, and selling them in Russia . It's their main point . But one has to, must add that this town teaches German ( good quality German ) language , some indigeous people speak much better German than a Berliner , as well as there are over 3 new German church buildings , and he people living here are somehow to Moscow as a Saint Petersburgers : they underestimate , belittle Moscow to their Kaliningrad . The only thing what these people haven't done yet is to rename the town to Kantgad . Or to Königsberg ... And . The hitler has killed 40 million people , lenin has killed with his leninism-slav(e)s 100 million . In Germany there are NOT hitler statues , but in the land of the motherf.....r russians one can find a lot of statues of this mass murderer . Thank for the Hungarian and the Polish nations there are 20 more independent countries , and someone who is inside communist doesn't dare to say in a society , company any longer , hello , I am a leninist , communist ... :-)

This was a wonderful city which sadly now belongs to Russia. Germany might regain Königsberg and the other German city’s soon. If you have been paying attention to the news you see what Russia is doing. You should now realise that our real enemy is Russia and not Germany. You could have spared Germany, because now Germany needs an army but you lot took it away. What shall happen if Russia enters Germany. What shall happen to the rest of Europe. Germany is the center of Europe if Germany gets wiped out then its over for Europe. Germany is now getting blamed for this war. What kind of world is this. Why do the Germans have to be blamed for this why. Everyone hates Germany. Past is the past. You cannot think of Germany from what it used to be. During wars everyone destroyed the enemy’s city’s. But the way East Germany got treated out of WWII is just not fair. A third of Germany got token away and given to the polish. Guess what the poles all still come to Germany. Even though they got land of Germany. Why is that. German is the first country on mind that people want to live in. Germany is not the biggest country in Europe but still has the biggest population compared to the allied countries. Have you ever wondered why..?

A great waste of human life and loss of culture . Put into context of what the Nazi's did to Warsaw , Minsk and Leningrad, the Prussians (East & West) may have had it coming to them. Prussia, the source of 3 pan European wars in less than a century. Has had the positive consequence of making 2 generations of WEST Germans empathic to the plight of refugees escaping war. Gunter Grasse was correct , but difficult to sympathise with nation to that killed and murdered over 35 + million people in central & eastern Europe. We all know about about gross Soviet atrocities but If Germany , Italy , Hungary , Roumania , Croatia and Slovakia had won , what a nightmare Europe would be like now. We've had 75 years of relative peace excepting of course the break up of Yugoslavia and Spanish and Portuguese dictatorship until 1975 Germany is now a beacon of s civilised approach to refugees . Germany can teach the UK , Netherlands and France a lesson or two , let alone states such as Hungary and Poland where the rule of law counts for so little, as they sink into right wing popularist dictatorship
