The surprisingly-realistic progress of Yui’s guitar playing: Episode 1: Plugging in. That’s the best she can do… for now… (And as we’ll see in Episode 2, unplugging can be harder.) Episode 2: Just a basic scale… poorly… Episode 3: C-Major Open Chord. Often a first chord for players. Episode 4: G-Major Open Chord. Slightly tougher, but still in the realm of a beginner. Episode 5: Chord changes, which actually require a lot of dexterity and precision for beginners. Episode 6: Power Chords. Although they sound complex, they are deceptively simple (drop D tuning can render power chords just by holding a single fret). By now, Yui can play her first live song, Fuwa Fuwa Time, which can be played (at least the solo-less version we hear) using power chords. Episode 7: More Complex Power Chords and faster changes. By now, she has all the basic skills of a rhythm guitarist, so it’s just a matter of improving what she already knows. Episode 8: Pentatonic Solo. Learning the pentatonic scale is the first step towards soloing and lead guitar, but this one plays it safe with short scale steps. Episode 9: Better Solo w/ Chords. Better string skips, and the chord at the end needs good chord-switching speed. Episode 10: Barre Chords. A couple episodes ago, Yui hurt her finger trying to play the infamous F-Chord. Of course, by Season 2 Episode 1, we can see she’s mastered them. Episode 11: Increasingly better solos. She’s finally mastered the fretboard and is now making greater melodic leaps. Episode 12: SHE’S SHREDDING! Episode 13: SHE’S TAPPING! Episode 14: SHE’S HENDRIXING- I mean SWEEP PICKING!

You have an amazing attention to detail
@thesnowfox7262 Жыл бұрын
That attention to detail... You really get it when someone knowledgeable like yourself explains it like this. I'm pretty much tone-deaf I guess and never tried to play an instrument, (and probably won't try to get into one cuz I really have neither the time nor the ambition/set of mind to get into one seriously) Guess K-on never got a third/"fourth" season cuz kyoani took a not so interesting yonkoma in my opinion and put so much time and energy into making a series beloved and cherished by many. And when people tried to read the manga (like myself) they were pretty disappointed with what they found
