K-POP NEWBIE REACTS TO NMIXX - TINY DESK

I loved the Tiny Desk performance by NMIXX. Also to hear some of the songs that I haven't reacted to as yet, was like a sneak preview as to how good it is. Now I'm dying to see if there are music video's for these songs.

Kkyu might be a baby and a cutie, but more often than not, she's the adult in the room :D She might be actual maknae, but she acts like a mother of the group, the one sensible one, the one who knows the schedule, the one who keeps the dorm tidy, the one who nags the others about dressing warm, the one who leads their dance practices and fixes every little detail.

Thanks for your reaction. NMIXX is pronounced as EN (as in "enable") - MIX. Lily and Haewon have the best vocals among the members but they are all improving continuously. This can be seen from the other members' versatility in this Tiny Desk concert. Lily and Haewon duet song even during pre-debut (Survivor cover) was so captivating that you would wish they did it longer.

I love this Tinydesk episode and I can't wait to look at these episodes for the other groups as well. Especially looking out for the word "special" since I'm know now what that means.

I highly recommend all their stages practices 🙏🏻 they're amazing and they sing live while dancing there. For mv's, Soñar (Breaker), Dice, Funky Glitter Christmas, Cool (your rainbow), Party O'Clock, Young, Dumb, Stupid, special videos like "My Gosh" and "Love is Lonely". Well these songs have their mvs of course you can react to them too 🥰

I’m a big fan of NMIXX. Among their peers they are especially noteworthy for their live singing. I recommend Stage Practices, where they sing live while practicing their choreography; live stage performances; performances on “It’s Live;” and on “Sound Bomb 360.”

NMIXX appeared for the first time as a K-pop idol at the Tiny Desk in this video. There is a reason why this is important. There are many live contents of K-pop idols, such as It's Live, Dingo, and limousine. In general, only the pattern is live, and the musical correction effect is excessive. However, Tiny Desk's content has several characteristics that neutralize them. 1. Don't wear in-ears 2. No MR&AR 3. One-take shooting 4. Use Tadeco Shotgun Microphone (Uncalibrated) There are no K-pop idols who have performed live while following the above four principles, and NMIXX is the first.

There are 4 rules for live performances on Tinydesk Korea: no wearing of earphones, no Music recorded & All recorded, one-take filming, use of Tinydesk Korea shotgun mic (no post-production). If even one of the 4 rules is not followed, the video title will have the word 'special' added at the end. NMIXX video title: 엔믹스 (NMIXX): Tiny Desk Korea. NMIXX is the first K-pop idol gg to follow the no-reproduction rule and do a live performance in Tinydesk.

Kpop newbie? If Kpop was a game it would be like starting with the final boss. What you just watched is unique in Kpop, no one in the history of this genre ever attempted and succeeded to do what Nmixx (pronounced N-Mix) did that day: 1 shot take Shotgun mics No post production No pitch correction Live band No in ear Those are the Tiny Desk requirements, any group that refuses to adhere to Tiny Desk requirements will have their performance marked as "special", like BTS did a few years ago. So yeah, this is not only unique but it will most likely stay unique for years to come, hopefully Babymonster will try one day, I believe they can pull it off.

I only found K-POP for the first time at the start of 2024 and was on a BTS boat until I think October when I started looking and asking about other groups for the first time. You _should_ watch a guide! Solty makes the best ones. Pick either "GUIDE to NMIXX 2024 Edition" (31:58), or "Introduction and GUIDE to NMIXX 2023 (Long Version) [OLD]" (1:14:24) if you want more :) You mispronounced Jiwoo. "Gee - ooo". No "n" at the end, and "w" is... cosmetic. :P In fact, it is hard for many Koreans to learn to say the "w" sound; so English "wood" often ends up as "ood". The name is traditionally written as Jiwoo in English, but the standard romanisation is Jiu (though it would be confusing, since there is already a JiU, in Dreamcatcher, even though she is pronounced slightly differently, as "G.U.", or "Gee - you"). Haewon... one of the attempts was close :) "Hey - won" without the "y" sound would be best approximation. Or maybe "heh heh heh heh :D won". Or! Wait, I know! Say "heaven" but replace "ven" with "won"! The rest were good!
