what i love the most about taehyung is the fact that he's never afraid of taking risks because someone with HIS level of popularity would probably go with generic pop and a hardcore choreo for their debut album title track which can guarantee them immediate success but he chose to stay true to his artistic identity and released this beautiful album with a beautiful vision in mind, he even said in suchwita (suga's talk show) that the title track was initially supposed be he an upbeat song but that wasn't the musical direction he had in mind so he scrapped it and settled with layover. I can't think of his album as K-pop. It's an album for music lovers. A little masterpiece full of Art & Jazz. Sophisticated, honest and humble all at the same time. And his warm, soulful voice feels SO good.

Reminder that Taehyung was approached by the Bing Crosby Estate to do the collab for their precious White Christmas - they have turned down previous requests. Also, his Winter Ahead had a record debut for a jazz song. I’ve been listening to jazz for 30+ years and absolutely love his voice. V BTS has many more accomplishments as you well know so you must live such sad lives to publicly hate on someone who is clearly far more successful than you will ever be. In Australia we call this the “tall poppy syndrome” and those people are considered less than. it is not that he is underrated, in fact he is one of the most popular and impactful idols but jazz/rnb isn’t a mainstream genre especially since he is a kpop idol and kpop fans are used to upbeat songs with choreography and let alone the fact that he barely gets promoted by his company but I’m honestly proud of him for staying true to himself and releasing the kind of music that he loves but couldn’t do in the past. I’m sure we will see him trying more genres in the future
