One of Sweetune's best works to date has to be "The Chaser". It's probably one of the best Kpop songs out there. It not only became Billboards #1 Kpop song of 2012 (beating out top artists like PSY and Big Bang), it was also on Rolling Stone's 50 Greatest Boy Band Songs. Honestly, Sweetune is a huge part of what has made Infinite what they're known and recognized for- their 80's, old school retro/pop and ballad-rock sound. I noticed Sweetune's sound changed, but I didn't know members left. I had hoped that Infinite X Sweetune would happen again. It's not just the producers of a song that make it as good as it is- the artists/groups who sing it also play a huge part. Both the producer, the type of music they make as well as the group itself all have to work well with each other. It was like that with Kara and it was like that with Infinite. It's not just the artists or just the producers that make a song great- they both have to work together in tandem for a song to be as good as it is. And this is the reason why Kara and Infinite did so well with Sweetune. It's kinda sad that Sweetune won't be the same Sweetune that it used to be due to people leaving, but I hope they keep doing well in the future. Sweetune is and will always be known in Kpop for producing really high quality and unique songs. I don't need Brave Brothers, I don't need Teddy, I don't need Shinsadong Tiger, I don't need E-Tribe, I don't need JYP. Just give me Sweetune. I've been loving Sweetune since I first became a Kpop fan and I will continue to love Sweetune even if they stop making music. B/c that's the kind of impact they have.

The Chaser is a masterpiece and gem of Sweetune x Infinite, the song that still gives me chills even after years. I really miss the retro sound of Infinite, right now with Rphabet composing title tracks their sound shifted to EDM. And the song prodced by Monotree for group's new album is not enough. Seems like Sweetune lost some of relevance with members leave and now they work with less known artists. I wonder what is the reason for Woollim not to hire them again
@matcha_
@matcha_ 8 жыл бұрын
WildWestSushi Probably b/c Sweetune isn't the same? And Woollim thought that it's about time they made use of their own company producers/composers (Rphabet)? I noticed that some of Sweetune's more recent works (songs from other groups that I've heard) are kinda underwhelming and not as good a quality as you'd expect from the original Sweetune. So I'm slightly glad that Woollim isn't forcing themselves to keep working with Sweetune and have Infinite release a sub-par song. I do like where Woollim is going by working with Monotree, b/c Monotree is the half of Sweetune that left Sweetune. Sweetune now, which consists of 2-3 people (I think) is not as good as they were (I'm just repeating myself lol) but that's b/c Monotree which had another 2-3 people were imo the "stronger" composers/producers in the original Sweetune. So if we can't have Sweetune as a whole, at least we have Monotree. Hopefully, Monotree keeps making good music and can at least give us a hint of the amazing Sweetune sound we used to know. :)

actually the main composers of sweetune who are the masterminds behind all their hits (including the chaser) are still there. (not everyone from sweetune is involved in every song they make.) in my opinion they are just as awesome today if not better.
@quocanh6345
@quocanh6345 2 жыл бұрын
@@BX5BT yes i thought Sweetune main composers are han jae ho & kim seung soo, and one of them did attend in 9muses reunion show (???) to share the making process experience. To be honest i think their favor is not mainstream Kpop anymore, isn't Sweetune now working with some indie bands and japanese groups? I have heard Hara final solo song (R.I.P), the quality is still the same as old Kara songs, it's just feel weird with only one vocal, so we can assume that Sweetune has not changed much even with the department.

This really brings me back to the old days... I used to love Sweetune so much & the fact that KARA worked with them for most of their title songs. They just know how to bring the best of KARA's vocal colors and make very catchy songs for them. (STEP is still my all time favorite & it's such a bop omg) & it's funny how throughout the years I came to love their songs for other groups even when I didn't know they're the ones who composed it. I guess their songs just completely suit my taste. Definitely my favorite kpop producer

Sweetune mentioned in the past that they will not produce for KARA if there wasnt 5 members. That's how close Sweetune and KARA5 were. They rather produce for Nicole than a KARA without Nicole and Jiyoung. They even produced for Seungyeon after she left KARA. I'm pretty sure one of the reasons MonoTree was founded was because KARA was no longer 5 members, that's why they split from Sweetune the moment after Nicole and Jiyoung left.

Sweetune will always stay as my favorite Kpop producer of all time! the style of music that I like are those that Sweetune made. maybe to most people Sweetune sounds boring because their tunes sound like it's rehashed to other songs but I just think they're just bringing out the full potential of the vocals singing them. I truly never cared for Infinite's newer releases since I'm already stuck loving the songs from Sweetune. yeah sure their sound after the three members left are somewhat downgraded but they still make awesome music! I really love Romeo's Target and their two new songs A.DE's Good Time and 100%'s Better Day. tbh only the songs they made for Snuper that wasn't a turner for me
