This is not the Germany I'm living in. Bavaria stands not for me and the whole land and also the Karneval/Fasching culture is nothing for most of the northern German like me.

@@reviewer7368 It was very focused on the traditional Bavarian activities and “Karneval” in small villages, for the “karneval” clips you could have used the resources of the WDR (west deutscher Rundfunk) because the “Kölner Karneval” represents Germany better and also not so much October fest. It’s just a small part of Germany who actually celebrates it. And please don’t use footage wich is from so events, most Germans don’t like that...

@@BOSRouter Thank you for your commentary! I don't know much about Germany and was just searching for typical German dances without thinking about domestic features. Didn't know Germany have strong national separation, so I'm sorry for that. However, I don't make video about Germany. It is only one for the Eurovision song, so there probably won't be more about Germany.

It is correct. It only represents a tiny part of Germany. I am North German. So by definition I don't dance, I don't smile and I have no sense of humour. Oh ... and I was not represented. That would require "ick heff mol en hamborger veermaster sehn" on an accordion. ... however ... I LOVE this video. Great job :)

​@@reviewer7368 You know you did a great job when you get one of the most german-like comments you could possibly recieve ;) Yes, the males are dressed in traditional bavarian suits and doing some traditional activities. Please do not use these, we don't want Bavaria to be seen as a Part of Germany, they're more like our strange cousin. (everyone sees the Irony in here? Good. Greetings from the Rhineland btw!) Even the Bavarians in the part of Franken don't want to be called Bavarians! But the females are doing dances which can be seen everywhere, at least around february... (it was a culture shock when I moved into the "Ruhrgebiet" where they barely celebrate carneval, it was even worse when I was in North-Germany! ) Let's be serious: Yes, these dances are only done in a short period of time and space: the Oktoberfest is a bavarian thing, Carneval ist mostly restricted to the Rhineland. Still, every little town celebrates their own "Oktoberfest" and the carneval shows BOSRouter mentioned (especially from the Cities Köln, Düsseldorf & Mainz) are viewed by a pretty large amount of people acoss Germany. So even if they don't represent the whole of Germany, somehow, they do. I don't see, why the female dances you chose wouldn't represent the "Kölner Karneval", my father used to be one of these persons who'd watch the TV-live-shows every single year, so when I was a kid, I had to watch them, too. It's not always the same dance, so the ones you chose represent them really good. Heck, at 0:48 you even used something that was most likely from one of these live-shows! If you were searching for traditional dances, well that's hard: Germany is in the middle of europe where the high society was always related, so dances like the waltz could be found everywhere. The poor people would be reigned in small "countries". They'd have to work and if they'd find the time to dance, these dances would be restricted geografically and therefore in high risk of being forgotten, especially after christianity arrived here.... Hm... I guess, the "Maitanz" is pretty famous: It originates (most likely) in some germanic traditions to celebrate spring. But again, based on the region, it differs highly. For example, at the 30th of april, you could place a big tree with a ring with long, colorful paperstripes around it in the middle of your town, and use these stripes for a slow dance around the tree... However, I would've sworn that you're German yourself. You did a great job! But please don't take this "most Germans" part serious. Yes, there are a few Kare- eh, Germans which see a thread to their privacy everywhere and take it waaay to serious. Which is the reason why Google maps streetview is pretty much non-existent in here. But "Most Germans" are annoyed by those people, not by people like you :D
