When they said that Jungkook was 15, they were speaking about Korean age. Which as of January 2023 is no longer a thing. The government voted that Koreans now have to use their international age. Before that babies in Korea were considered to be born at age 1, and everyone turns the age they would be turning during that year on January first. So if you were born in December you would be considered 20 for a whole year before you actually reached your 20th birthday. Meaning that in Korean age you could actually be 2 years older that your real age depending on what month it is and what month you were born. Jungkook’s birthday is in September, so he was actually 13 when he moved into the dorms as a trainee.

Since this guide was made the Proof album was released. It's basically a BTS greatest hits album. RM released his solo album Indigo in 2022, J-Hope released his solo album Jack in the Box in 2022 and released On the Street as a goodbye to ARMY before entering the military in April, Jin released The Astronaut as a goodbye to ARMY before entering the military in December, Suga/Agustd released his solo album D-Day this spring and had a huge sold out world tour, Jimin released his first solo album, Face, this spring breaking all kinds of records and JK just released his first solo song Seven this week. Both JK and V are both working on solo albums that are supposedly to be released by the end of the year.

Also, because the younger members were still in school, the older members took great care of them. Jin took them to school each day, cooked/packed their lunches and helped with homework. It’s very much a family dynamic. And an interesting social experiment that shows that seven men can live together without toxic masculinity and with stronger ties than most families have. Also, don’t worry about pausing. Army prefers you to pause and chat. We’ve all seen this documentary 100 times. We are more interested in what you have to say.

The black swan instrumental is from (I believe it’s called the) Black Swan Art Film, that was released around the same time as the music video and featured a contemporary dance troupe. BTS also danced to this instrumental version of the song at the 2020 MMAs. (Mèlon Music Awards). The second instrumental you asked about is the song Euphoria. Third instrumental you mentioned it Outro: Tear. Fourth instrumental you mentioned is also Euphoria.

I’m glad you reacted! Suga and also technically J-Hope are also older than RM. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan. At the point of you asking, it had already said that at least twice if not three times, lol. Also when the guide has songs included, it names them in the top corner if it hasn’t named them in the next or is literally showing it with the album/single picture on screen. Btw it’s out of sync since the Mamamoo ad, the audio is then ahead of what we’re seeing in the inset video so we’re seeing and hearing your reaction without seeing exactly what part of the video it’s relating to. In terms of the Wembley videos, check out a couple different ones. Sorry I don’t have the links, but often people only watch one where you can see their reaction, which is great to include, but you also want one filmed from much further away where you can here more if the crowd singing. It was an amazing experience being there, and we were a lot louder than a lot of the videos indicate!

Nice to find another person that Loves Black Swan. That was my intro to BTS and I've been a full-blown ARMY ever since. There is so much to learn about BTS and each of the individuals. Each of the 7 is so unique and J-Hope once said he thought it was FATE that brought them together. One note about the ages: up until recently Korea used to calculate age differently. So, whenever they said Age 15, for example, using International Age, they were about 13. Jung Kook joined the agency at age 13 and when they debuted in 2013 he was 15 and he was designated as the Main Vocalist. That meant in addition to being center in the choreo's much of the time, he also recorded all of the members parts (except maybe the rappers) for them to learn their parts, did most of the background vocals and ad libs. Nowadays, they all do some of everything for the most part. That said, they are currently doing solo work as they gradually all enlist in South Korea's mandatory military service. 2 of them, Jin and J-Hope, are already enlisted. Jung Kook was the most recent to release a solo song (just on July 14th) called Seven. Warning - the MV is the "clean" version and the Performance Video (with choreo) is the "explicit version. They're both great, but some might be taken aback as they aren't anything like BTS' group performances. lol That's true for some of the other members' solo works, but not in the same manner. J-Hope was the first to come out with a solo album called Hope in the Box last year. Jin did a solo single called The Astronaut in collab with Coldplay. RM produced a solo album (masterpiece) called INDIGO. Jimin did a mini album solo called FACE with 2 MV's. Jungkook just did solo song SEVEN (all in English) and is expected to have an album out something this year. V is the last and we think his solo album will be out September or 4th Quarter, but no confirmation of that yet.

I love that Wembley moment too - I know lots of people who were there, and, like me, they still weep when they see it. There are lots of YT videos of it. One reason I find it so powerful that nearly every time I see them interviewed in the West (USA or UK in particular) they are asked when they are going to do an album in English. I find it incredibly rude (they never asked Pavarotti when he would sing Nessun Dorma in English after all). So, when playing in Wembley, a venue they have idolised all their lives. they found themselves listening to 60,000 British, European and American fans singing to them in Korean it certainly moved them, and no wonder. Their comments afterwards were also very moving.

Just started this vid but wanted to say not everyone hates pausing 😅 I personally enjoy knowing a reactor has time to read things, and also that they can express a reaction in the moment they feel it and not end up missing content just because of it. Everyone has their own styles so you do you! But if it's to keep complaining down just know the pausers get just as much views, and usually from a lot nicer folks than those who whine about it.

I assume you know this at this point, but at one point you forgot to cut the ad from the embedded video but cut it from your reaction. I'm only mentioning it because from then on I was watching your pre-reaction, because you were a few seconds ahead of the guide 😂 It was fun anyway! You should definitely look up the whole video of the surprise at Wembley, it's lovely. Folks have told you many things, I thought I'd just toss in that in Hybe groups the leader isn't generally the oldest, which was unusual at first. They've found it works better if the leader is chosen because they lead well and the eldest can support them within the group. The leader of Enhypen is one of the youngest of them (and he's a good leader!). I think it's a good way to do things, personally... The groups seem more stable overall with that structure.

Love your reaction, it helps a lot to understand them a bit. Extra info about the boys, RM, he is leader because of his intelligence and ability to communicate effectively, also his English proficiency helps. By age he is right in the middle with Jin, Suga and Jhope being older. Suga is the second recruited, the original idea was to make a hip hop group Jhope was recruited for his dance skills. I heard once that he was intended to be a vocalist originally, but when Jin joined as the visual they said he could train to rap as well, but he struggled with that so Jhope swopped with him. Jin, joined as an actor and visual with no singing or dancing skills. Was racked with anxiety that he would let the others down who he saw as all being stars. He trained really hard to learn to sing (and dance) and we are all so glad he did because his voice is amazing. Also he used to drive JK to school which I think may be why they are so close. Jungkook, actually only 13 when he joined the company and moved to Seoul, and was 15 when they debuted. As the main vocalist he has a lot of responsibilities, making song guidez and recording most of the choruses often with layer upon layer of harmonies. V, not much else I know to add except that many people dont notice the fact he acted in Hwarang, a Kdrama, and had a significant part. That is how he became part of the actor friends group who call themselves the Wooga squad. Jimin, also main dancer, acts silly for the camera, but I think he is actually a very serious guy. You mentioned BlackSwan for choreo, many call that Jimin's song. His most iconic dance is actually in the 2019 MMA Awards show, which you really will enjoy watching, although it is quite long. All lovely, humble, hardworking people. One last addition, I believe the awards now number over 1000.!!!

This video is the best! But I just want to point out that she forgot to mention that RM's 148 IQ is genius level but Jimin and Jungkook both have an IQ of 128 which is pretty high too. I don't know about all members but Taehyung and Suga seems to have an IQ above average too. She said that Jungkook is good in everything but she forgot to say that Jin also is good in almost every sports, he also can play the piano and guitar! And even tho it's "accurate as of May 2022" It's still not updated because with BTS you basically can't have an updated version for a long time. If you want an accurate update of BTS you would have to add another 5 Minutes every other week because they are working so much that they achieve something new every other week. For example as of May till now, they again released multiple solo albums, other projects, won many awards and broke records. And if you want detailed videos about each member it would have been a 1 hour video for every single one (probally longer LOL) Update: as of Dec 2022, BTS hold the record of the 4th most awarded artist in the world with 900+ awards. But awards and first places are stolen from them. I urge you to watch the information videos by Boracity Magazine: BTS vs radio BTS vs Spotify BTS vs attendance award shows BTS vs boybands coming back Why the music industry is terrified of bts why the boyband "hiatus" doesn't apply to bts Why most Armys don't like Kpop "the next bts:" why they fail every time. bts paved the way, why is it so hard to accept it? BTS are really all about their lyrics and their message. If you want a breakdown of their discography, told by a very resourceful and talented ARMY that likes to cover topics related to them in video essays, I can recommend one for you. It's a 1 hour video, but she did an amazing job, and I think you will appreciate it, now that you have been introduced and have an idea of who they are. You will get the full story on how they became members, and even information your average ARMY may not know. She went very in depth. It was fascinating to watch. I'll link it for you. Her channel is Boracity Magazine. Chapter 1 - of BTS's discography is their journey from before their debut, up until their anthology album in 2022. Chapter 2 - Right now they are in Chapter 2, which is their solo projects and then their military service. Chapter 3 - They will come back together in 2025 (Which will be chapter 3). I would really love to see your reaction to the video, and I'm sure other ARMY's will too. I think it's totally worth it. I got so much new information from it. It really brings home their journey and different stages of their discography and how it relates to what they went through. You will definitely find new music you will be interested in. Seconding people requesting reactions the Rise of Bangtan docuseries since it's so well done. There's a lot of episodes so maybe once a week? As far as music goes, I'd recommend Dis-ease (no MV but the channel Dial6137 has a great lyric video), Louder than Bombs (again no MV but the same channel has good lyric videos), and Zero O'clock (same as the other two - no MV). I like a lot of their B-sides even more than the title tracks with MVs haha. I think you'll be really impressed with those three songs.n

Basically the reason their marketing was so different (and now widely copied in KPop) is because they were largely locked out of the industry because they were nobodies from a tiny, broke company. They also received a lot of backlash for speaking truth to power and covering powerful subjects like socio-political, economic, mental health, current events etc while also drawing from the arts, history, literature, Korean and Hip Hop cultures, philosophy, psychological theory and more inspirations. They also were from a Hip Hop foundation musically and that also didn’t fit in KPop. They were told they didn’t fit as idols, but were also rejected by the K Hip Hop underground for being idols. They stood isolated and alone and they felt it. They basically broke all the rules and were at the bottom of the hierarchy in a very hierarchical country. They had to find alternative ways to reach fans so they got creative. They vlogged and made Bangtan Bombs (TikToks before TikTok existed.). They were mistreated on and not invited to tv variety shows, so they made their own. No network would carry their shows, so they streamed them online. They were mistreated by some online platforms so their company created their own platform for them, Weverse. Their alternative methods basically incidentally launched them onto a global platform right away, instead of focusing on S Korea, as the idol industry had mainly done in the past. Early on they were accused of somehow cheating their streaming and album sales numbers (though their company had no money and power to do that) because the S Korean public could not believe a small group from a small company was selling so well, and they didn’t see them on varsity shows, tv performance and live concerts in S Korea because they were ignored, mistreated or cut from shows. So the public was like: “Who the heck are these guys?? They can’t be selling this well if we don’t know who they are!” But it was their overseas fans driving the early streaming snd sales numbers. Something unheard of in KPop. When they went to the US to film the cringey but pivotal show American Hustle Life just a year after their debut, when they were still broke and struggling to scrape by in S Korea, there was a crowd to meet them at the airport and they were recognized on the street. The have continued to this day to take insane and massive amounts of organized hate, from the top of the industry with lockouts and chart manipulation against them and a complicit media largely either ignoring their achievements or slandering them……to the bottom, with fandoms teaming up to attack them. It’s a combination of things. One was being so good right out of the gate that they put the fear into the industry and it tried hard to block them. Rightly so, they were 100% correct to fear them and BTS has eclipsed them all now. They also broke the rules and spoke out against injustice and societal ills and their elders, and those in power didn’t like that. These kids were writing their own music (also highly usual in the industry) and putting their hearts and souls into issues they cared about. They also didn’t fit the male idol beauty standards and were denigrated as “the ugly idol group.” Basically the massive cyber bullying issue in KPop really started with them because they were the first with a massive online presence and they were so horribly and massively attacked. Any issue you can think of they have been attacked on it and accused of all manner of things. The company lawyers have been kept busy constantly dealing with litigation of slander, liable and cyber bullying, harassment and other cases. But they could not even start to address those things until they were making enough money to have a legal team so the first few years the guys just had to take it on the chin and try to weather the storm. It was rough. Hybe is entirely the house that BTS built.

Here is a link to the Wembley stadium singing 'Young forever' (the Enjoy BTS more 'channel video is the only one who explains it !) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoizZ4x7obqtmas But you might want to do a reaction to the actual song before, to understand why they chose this song. It's a really meaningful song to BTS and Army !

Borahea: From an Army Mom - aka West Indian Mother who discovered them in 2016 (three yrs after their S.Korean release). Long before their Wembly Concert or 'The General Public'....got to know them. We OG's were tracking/following them. The Night they appeared on The Ellen Show? Army were there. Not only seated in her audience but......thousands of us watched "In Real Time" and FLOODED HER WEBSITE. Ellen went on to say " The audience went WILD...for this 'Unknowned Group to 'Us' -but HAD WE KNOWN, back then? How half the world - ADORED THEM? Things would've been different. I guess..hindsight is 20/20. Had Ellen (done her RESEARCH) BTS were treated like a 'cute puppy circus, performing tricks'. Back then. Can't blame her at the time. She had NO IDEA HOW BIG.. BTS WOULD BLOW UP. And given her rep....with all her crew HATING her....at the time. BTS can look back on that famous night - like many of us BTS OG's today and understand that.. it is was (back then) a part of BTS's voyage in 'Murica. Although 'Some' of the episode is 'cringy af' ? In terms of Ellen - feeling she is better than. Their INTERVIEW with her.....will go down in History. She tried to patronize a 'S.Korean/KPop Group'. Never understood back then - nor cared - 'This Is About To Become The Greatest Group In The World.' Bar None. And to date - they are. Where is Ellen today? Nuff said. My spiel above is for a New Generation of Army or lover's of BTS . Do your research. Once you travel down that Rabbit Hole? Welcome aboard, Darlings ..to the largest FAMILY in the world. WE 💜 You.

The absolute BEST version I've come across of the Wembley/"Young Forever" experience: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoizZ4x7obqtmas Excuse me...I'm going to go off and cry now. (This song meant a lot to them...and especially to Jimin - my Ult. - so much so that Jimin actually has tattoos of it. On the backs of his arms, he has "Young" just above his left elbow and then "Forever" just above his right).

After this you need to check another great guide to their Discography for the first 10 years. It will get you idea on their concepts and sheer amount of music that they put out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHawZqWIn9ZqocU Taylors guide you watched is good for general info and personalities and so e solo endeavours but it doesn't include group music which is main thing

Hi just letting you know the video and your reaction wasn’t matching up, your response was ahead of video. 💜 since 2022 they’ve done a whole lot more as solo artists and as a group so there’s lots more to check out. Unfortunately they’ve started enlisting in the military which is mandatory in Korea so they won’t be together as a group again until 2025.
