Jeongyeon was ranked third from 2015 to 2020. Unfortunately, her lines decreased significantly after her hiatus, to the point that other sub-vocalists now have more lines than her. In all honesty, Jeongyeon is more than deserving of a solo album and should receive more recognition. JYPE, please give her back the lines she deserves. People need to understand that in most of the songs where Nayeon has 20 more seconds than everyone, it’s because of the adlibs, if you take her adlibs away, it’s fair. “Why wouldn’t you count the adlibs?” you ask. Because when singing live you don’t usually sing all of the adlibs + you aren’t front and center during an adlib like you are during your own part. I know damn well, if Nayeon only got one line and then adlibs, people would complain that she didn’t get lines. Just like people will complain no matter who’s at the bottom. It was like that already before Nayeon's solo. I instead had my hopes that because she finally got a solo (songs where she's the only one singing) they would try to make the group's line distributions more balanced but it rather went worse. The comment I agree with the most. For a group as tight and as stable as they are, I think line distribution is the least of their worries. Especially now, when they are 9 years in, they have a say on how things go. Even in the songs they write, they get to decide. Are we going to complain if Dahyun thought lines fit other members better in When We Were Kids, where she ranked last? Trust the girls, they know their worth and what fits best for the songs they sing. Also, another qualm I have about KPop line distributions-they don’t count lines, they count seconds, which isn’t fair. Some could have the same amount of lines but a bit longer in singing. Some would have less lines but it would be the iconic/killing parts. Not to mention the lack of distinguishing the ad libs, which are just vocal flairs to the song and are clearly often given to stronger vocalists. As for Jeongyeon becoming a “sub-vocal” as people dubbed… I think they are all way past member positions. If TWICE has taught me anything, it’s that they all work together to be one harmonious group and value each contribution. I’m saying this as a Jeongyeon bias, who also wished for more lines for her. I also noticed how she shares similar parts with Mina, Sana, and even Tzuyu because while they all have different vocal colors, they manage to deliver similar lines so well, adding variety and interest. Dahyun and Momo have memorable parts, Chaeyoung is so versatile when needed. Nayeon’s vocal color is perfect for idol music and has been a staple of TWICE’s songs, while Jihyo grounds it with her soulful voice. I do hope each member finds channels to share their own voices, be it solo debuts, subunits, or even covers. But I trust them and the pace, the setting they choose for themselves. You cannot please everyone, and there will never be a truly equal/fair line distribution. So I choose to trust TWICE in their craft as they know this more than anyone, and I enjoy whatever they come up together. I hope fans learn to appreciate their songs without counting numbers because at the end of the day, the girls just want us to enjoy what they put out for what it is. It's refreshing to find someone normal here who actually treats the girls like capable humans bc every single comeback everyone usually makes the same type of comments under line distribution videos 😭 they dont understand the process of making the song is more than just "lets give this line to someone at random" or them thinking producers prefer one member over another, it's much more than that. @@carat_light thank you! I share the same sentiments as you-it is refreshing to see another co-fan who isn’t too numbers crazed. Forgetting that KPop is, at its core, music just dampens the experience. I also like to keep in mind that producers and composers themselves are artists who have visions for how they think their song would sound best, and are not music-making machines or tools for TWICE to use. I know TWICE as musicians and artists who also write their own songs understand and respect that. Naturally, there would be questionable choices-like JY’s two lines in LOA or Momo’s “ppang ppang” in Turtle. It’s valid and normal to be upset. But also recognize that they shine a lot in other songs, too. KPop fandom culture is so heavily competitive in all aspects, and even if some of it stems from good intentions, it does overstep the members’ role as artists. There’s always something to complain about, something to nitpick, so much so that Jihyo herself had to call out fans for being unsatisfied and in turn making them feel like they aren’t trusted to make right decisions. Bottomline really is that everybody needs to take a step back to actually listen to the music, the art TWICE brings to life and understand the dedication they have through their craft. Everyone would be happier that way! And surely, with about 200 songs in their discography and 9 years of performances under their belt, that shouldn’t be a hard thing to do.

I completely agree with you. But my point is , it feels painful when your favourite member has been at the bottom since 9 years and another member topping the line list. And well is they live with E/O and have such a good bonding, why can't they experiment the lines. All songs where Jeong topped are hits, we all know SIGNAL (bcoz of MOMO) and there is GO HARD( CHAERYEONG), QUEEN( DAHYUN) , LAST WALTZ , SANDCASTLE (bcoz of Tzuyu) , MERRY AND HAPPY ( SANA'S iconic line , Thank you Santa , thank u thank you Santa Claus where she is having the most lines).
