If ketu is the owner of start nakshatra and mercury is the owner of last nakshatra, and nakshatra arrangement/sequence maps the process of life, then Ketu is a karak for good as well as bad genes, and Mercury is the karak for leveraging good genes as well as overcoming bad genes.

You are never detached from ketu wherever and whichever house and sign it placed your entire life focus will be related to that. Lord Ram had ketu in 12th house his entire life was revolve around wandering in exile and in distant land. Those who have ketu in 8th house his lìfe focus will be on occult, darker sides etc. 7th house ketu revolve around relationship whole life. 5th house isolated whole life. It's the modern astrologers theory that ketu detached you from the house it sits no classic or vedic text mentioned it ketu is your body rahu is your head you sit with your body not with head so wherever is ketu placed is your body sits there and you do things related to that house.
