these electric karts that k1 has have brake sensors, which are delayed. if you want to maintain speed exiting a corner, use as little brake as possible, if none at all. also, the squeaking noise is caused by the weird thing these karts have which I call sensisteering (sensitive steering). The easiest way to stop this from happening is in 2 ways. The squeak that you hear is actually an oversteer, when the front tires get no traction and just push. This can be stopped by braking before entering if needed, or at least letting off of the throttle, to slow down just enough to get traction. Another reason this happens is these karts in my opinion have way too hard of tires. while warming them up before the race also helps, a great way to solve this is leaning forward slightly, or moving your head, while slowing down into the corner to give more weight on the front tires. While this may sound stupid, it actually works. Hope this helps!
@Levi-o7q8 ай бұрын
also, entering the corner while higher up on the racetrack works quite well when the tires push like this, if not then turn through the middle part of the track, instead of the bottom

Yeah i see how this can help but the kart i was in was ridiculously understeery but i wasn’t driving it correctly. Instead of lifting to let the kart rotate i was driving it like how i normally would drive it. Thanks for the tips bro ill try them out and also thanks for the support and comment it is always greatly appreciated im glad to see that you took time out of your day to comment on my video it really means a lot to me
@derekdrummond75448 ай бұрын
Not being a dick , but when the front loses traction and pushes , it's understeer . Otherwise, good advice dude Another way to help turn in , is to lean outward. This puts weight on the outside tyres and lifts the inside rear just slightly for the fixed axle to work like a differential.

You're under steering issue is because youre steering input is too large. You need to learn to " steer with your pedals" and only use the wheel to point the kart in the right direction.
@Kalvincoop12187 ай бұрын
Well the thing abt this track is its mostly flat out and u dont need to use the breaks and when you do it slows you down tremendously but yes i see what ur saying. If this was gas karts then steering with your pedals would work much better. Thanks for leaving a comment I really appreciate all of them much love and thanks for the advice
@BansheeAirsoft_7 ай бұрын
@@Kalvincoop1218you should still steer less “aggressively” because it will also help you stop bouncing You would think with an under steering kart you need to turn more but no that just makes your kart slow If you have under steering on your kart turn smooth and even if it’s a flat out track, maybe use the brake a lil to help fix the under steer

i race at k1 a lot. a lot of these karts have this issue. a trick i have found hepful is either braking slightly while streeing to put more weight on the fron tires. you can also try a kind of wierd turning stratagy. you turn to the side you want to turn but as soon as you hear squealing you turn back staright and repeat this very fast

When I went to k1 the brakes were absolutely awful and you had to use full force just to stop
@Kalvincoop12188 ай бұрын
At our k1 speed in nola they’re extremely touchy and if you barely touch them you come to a complete stop
@jscott93607 ай бұрын
At K1 l often find the kart has bad understeer that gets better after the first 3 or 4 laps and is much better by the end as the front tires warm up. The best way i found to deal with it is let off throttle and lightly stab the brake on entry. It's pivots the kart toward the apex an helps point it out of the corner as you mat the throttle. This can keep you closer to that other kart until the fronts come up to temperature and then you can overtake. You were really catching him the last three laps, and should have been able to get arround him. That break checking and him blowing the corners seemed to catch you slightly off guard and was pretty egregious behavior on his behalf. You should have sent it right to his inside and used him up if you had to because he gave you permission to borrow his 4 tires for one turn by making contact with you on lap 1. Also, you can put your seat all the way forward to shift some weight to reduce the push as well. Always start with the seat somewhere in the middle if it's adjustable so you have that adjustment if your kart is tight (move seat forward and lean forward) or loose (push seat back and lean back in the turns).
@Kalvincoop12187 ай бұрын
Good advice man i rly shouldve sent one on him but watch my pt2 as well my race there is much more flawless and i have a slightly better kart (still bad) but i made it work

@@Kalvincoop1218 anytime. I travel the entire country for work and I always look for the nearest kart racing track I can find. I prefer gas karts outdoors, but I've been to a dozen or so indoor electric tracks, and at least 8 different k1 facilities. I find their karts are actually much more consistent than most places, but there will always be some difference in speed and handling. I don't ever really get to learn a track and maximize lap time, but I can usually show up and post a top 3 time for the day and make the weekly board. It's a fun hobby.

I drove the same electric karts you drove but at RPM Raceway in Jersey City, and I will tell you that most of the time on track I was lifting instead of breaking. When I did need to break, I just gave it a small tap and it gave me a lot of rotation in the corners. I compared these to the German karts at supercharged entertainment (in New jersey again) and the braking is less sensitive. I really don’t know why they make the braking on these karts so sensitive. I did go to a K1 speed in Dublin California and AGAIN the brakes were super sensitive. Overall, in my opinion, German karts are one of the best rental electric go karts I’ve ever driven so far.

Great Driving and great video! We often see parent drama in the Junior League too (in the Boston area). I think they try to manage it but there is sometimes alot of staff turnover and its hard to get consistancy. To help with grip try leaning your body to the outside of the corner to shift weight to the outside rear. If that tire gets a little extra grip it will help a ton with turn-in. Practice that until its natural. Also, the tires on these rental cars are so hard and thick that pre-race swerving makes no difference in putting heat into them. Instead, specifically in qual, try to induce a bunch of oversteer and understeer for the first couple laps, it will help open a gap up in front of you while heating the tires, then fire off a couple hot laps until you catch up to traffic, then repeat.
@Kalvincoop12188 ай бұрын
Yeah i preach leaning thats my favorite thing to do while in the kart and it is natural for me but this kart was ridiculously understerry and there was nothing i could do about it and also we had different karts for qualifying because at this k1 they mix it up. The parent drama was silly man the dudd threatened to take his kids out of league racing because of the penalty even though i was being used as a break and i wanted to keep everyone happy so i decided to not go through with the penalty. Thanks for sharing your experince and im glad that you liked the video i really appreciate it and comments like these help to keep me going. Much love bro
