I have some knowledge on kitesurfing kite! Most companies produce inflatable kites as it is best for when the kite drops in the water...so that you are able to relaunch. I guess it is for the same reason! I am really curious why the person who controls the kite has the kite attached to him and why they don't put an attachment point on the boat...more relaxing but it case they do anything wrong the might be flying a few meters above the water :)
