These Chinese lasers have become quite popular. I’m sure these tips are going to be helpful to many people. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. To me the K40 is similar to an Anet A8 printer - you basically get a kit or a set of components - not a ready-made product. But with a few upgrades (in total I think I have spend around 100 € in addition to the printer itself which was 360) you get a machine that works absolutely fine.

@walterhynson28985 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much no crap yack straight to the point and the grounding tip is for real. I have seen a similar problem on cnc mills ,boat trailers ect.
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Walter Hynson I really don’t understand why the manufacturers don’t improve on some of these aspects.

Thank you, this is a very useful video! In addition to eliminating the paint, have you also created a separate grounding as indicated by the instructions with a pole implanted in the ground? Or just plugged into the properly grounded wall outlet? Thank you so much
@WayofWood3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Once the paint is removed the casing is properly grounded...

That protective glass is safe for eyes?

If the given wavelength range of the glasses matches the laser (as for the ones on my website) and you trust the manufacturer to not lie to you they should be save.

If you look for the alignment of the mirrors search for "k40 mirror alignment" - there are plenty of videos on the topic.

Hi how do you keep certain parts of the laser to cut and others to just only engrave? I want to make earrings and would like them to be out of the plywood but the center have the design engraved is that possible?

Genuinely Jenni With K40 whisperer it’s simple: Everything black is engraved; all red lines will be cut.

i do really appreciate your reviews to k40 laser cutting co2 machine. can the machine have AutoCAD file or its pdf one for a cutting?

If you use K40 Whisperer you can use DXF or svg files for cutting.

Mine came with a clear screen on top. Not Red like yours. Are they still protective?
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Matt Tanner Most materials block the laser beam. I would hope that the manufacturer has chosen a material that is not passable by the laser...

@@WayofWood This is the response I got from Suncoo That light is harmless to the eyes, just can't touch the high temperature. Cherie from Customer Service Department CS Department
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Matt Tanner This is total BS. If you look what the laser beam does to acrylic glass - it does pretty much the same to your cornea ... which is definitely harmful. If you want to be sure remove a small part of the screen (eg clip off a corner), put it under the laser and see if the laser beam gets through the material ...
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Matt Tanner In my case the laser beam has never hit the protection screen. In practice installing a safety switch might be more important that the material of the screen: An Open lid offers the least protection 😏
@mtanner475 жыл бұрын
I am sorry. I am confused. So do I need a red screen to protect my eyes? Just trying to play it safe is all..Mine did not even have the backing on the window that I am seeing everyone pulling off theirs. Sorry, just frustrated is all. This thing is costing me and more every time I turn around. Finding pieces that are not soldered correctly and missing items. SO I am taking it one step at a time to make sure I am covered on all grounds.

Hello, could I purchase an upgraded k40 from you, with upgraded bed and air assist?
@WayofWood4 жыл бұрын
Kamen Atanasov I don‘t sell them and don’t have the space to put a few K40 in storage. If you don’t have access to a 3d printer I could put the parts for an air assist in a webshop.

Hi, I bought 50W CO2 Desktop Laser Engraving Machine/Laser Engraver Cutter Machine With USB PORT recently. Is this the same as in your video?
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
jute twine Most likely not. This is a 40W laser. It also has a USB port but if it would’ve the same as yours your seller lied regarding the wattage 😏
@jutetwine44825 жыл бұрын
K40 Whisper only runs on Linux not Windows? There is not guide on how to use the software too and getting help from the supplier on how to use their software is not easy.
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
jute twine K40Whisperer runs on Windows as well but I doubt that it will work for your machine if it’s not a K40.

I have same machine. But my laser does not fire. What can i do??
@WayofWood6 жыл бұрын
Mayur Sonar If you pressed down the power and the laser on button O would check the connections from the power supply to the laser. If everything else is powered and the laser doesn’t fit at all the laser tube might be damaged. It’s possible to get a replacement tube via eBay but I haven’t replaced a tube before.

Tomo Polic I honestly didn’t tried it as I don’t have a Windows PC and the reviews from other users were rather mediocre. But give it a try - it should get the job done as well ...

it's probably a good thing you didn't get a Full Spectrum Laser, mine is junk.
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Snyder Spindles I was really afraid of having a machine causing problems after international shipping. I‘ve also heard from people that got K40 lasers with damaged parts - but even if my model would have had any issues I could have replaced it quite a few times before reaching the same cost as a glowforge or full spectrum.

In my country we don't have Ground, only Hot & Neutral. We like to live in danger 😁. Short video but very informative. Thanks for sharing.
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Alaa Jannoud Most likely you have ground (if you are in the US for example). Your ground is just connected to neutral at the switch panel of your house. Having the machine properly grounded is quite important - also in this setup.
@alaaj995 жыл бұрын
No, no earth at all. Not even in buildings or houses or transformers or anything. No earth rods at all.
@WayofWood5 жыл бұрын
Alaa Jannoud In that case be careful. I honestly would not dare to use a high voltage laser tube with water cooling in a metal case if the device is not properly grounded...
