I bought one and I couldn't be happier with it! I like the imperfections and little specks in the metal on the handle. It has a "used look" to it, like it was your granddad's wrench. I love it just the way it is. Mine came extremely sharp and the sheath has excellent retention. I like to carry it in my leg pocket on the right side of my carpenter jeans. The handle sticks out enough for me to pull it out easily for the task I'm using it for.

I never seen this knife before today walked into my local Surplus Store and I couldn't leave the store without it. I'll let you know a little tip about the sheath and why it's designed the way it is. There is a Little Hook above the attachment holes this is design so you can carry this knife in either your back pocket or your little fifth pocket of your jeans with the handle sticking out disguised as an average wrench the hook is designed to catch on your pocket leaving the sheath in your pocket while deploying the knife with one hand I know this because I've been making Kydex sheets for more than 10 years now and have made similar sheaths like this

I don’t understand the hook aspect. What hook?

@@jamessmith4455 watch the video at 4:24 his left thumb is touching the "hook" it's the L shaped cut in the plastic right above the first mounting hole these are normally put on pocket holsters for guns the idea is for it to be in your pocket and as you pull up and back it will catch on the seam of your pocket allowing the sheath or holster to separate from your knife or your pistol so you can have a clean one handed draw

Bought three of these. Tennis racket tape and they are good to go.

Enjoyed the review. Cool knife, but I'm leaning towards the Eskabar with the 1095 crovan steel for roughly the same price. Would be a nice addition to my toolbox though, Hmmm...

I bought this knife also and the edge was a mess. If you're into knives, then be prepared to put an edge on it yourself. That goes for even the most expensive knives you will buy, as the people at these manufacturing places seem to be pretty incompetent. Eventually, you will need to get a sharpening system unless you're a prepared to become a kung-fu sharpening master.

Yep, add the jimp’s. It is cool looking, what would be the practical use for that knife in your opinion?

Just small utility tasks. Cut some rope, open boxes, open packaging and things similar to that. I wouldnt use it for self defense or hunting.

I have absolutely no use for a $400 dollar knife. Nor for a knife made of cheap chrome vamadium metal.

No excuse for the unevenly ground edge. Maybe Ka-bar should let machines do the work instead of having workers rush these blades through the grinding belts. Not sure why you think a sloppy ground edge is acceptable just because it's $40 knife. That is BS. I don't care where it's made and who made it.

quit whining, 1\2 hour on the stones and you have your edge. the excuse that i see for a mediocre factory edge is that anybody that can notice it should be able to adjust it on the first sharpen. buck up and get the job done

by the ways. just got this knife and i like it. sturdy little workhorse that should be able to take the abuse i give it in the fields. wont last for ever but the softer steel makes it quick and easy to maintain. in the end its a forty buck knife.
