I feel school and colleges have earned alots of money for many years. If they are willing to set up their institution to another place and rent their present building to some other purpose then little bit of the problem will be solve. If car users are willing to go on the bases of odd and even little bit of the problem will be solve. If Street vendor are willing to shift from footpath little bit of the problem will be solve. If private vehicles are willing to commute by public transport little bit of the problem will be solve. If tourist vehicle from other districts are willing to stop some specific place without entering into the heart of the city and let the passanger commutes by local taxi to this specific station then little bit of the problem will be solve. If two wheeler are willing to go in queue or any vehicle are willing to go in queue without zikzak then little bit of the problem will be solve. If fly over like dhankheti is built and strictly prohibited the people to use fly over rather than crossing through the road then little bit of the problem will be solve. More man power ( STP) needed to impart strict rules and regulations to solve little bit of the problem. In conclusion I would like to add as of now there is no one good solution to the shillong trafic but we have to do and joint hands together to do small small thing from our part rather than just blaming the government to solve the problem of traffic jam in shillong
