In the year 1989 CT Rajan produced a movie named "Mahayanam" which did not go well in box office leading Rajan to financial crisis. After this incident he had to leave the city with his family. 3 decades later, 2 of his sons, Rony david raj(writer) & Roby Varghese raj ( Director ) delivered a blockbuster featuring the same hero as the lead. That was a bloody sweet revenge.

FYI: The scriptwriter Rony David Raj and director Roby David Raj are real brothers. Their father C T Rajan was a film producer and he produced a mammotty film in 1989 although it was a critically acclaimed classic, it faced a box office failure and left him in significant debt and he never ventured into filmmaking again. Now, many years later those debts were repaid by the huge succes of Kannur Squad ... So this movie cleared a family debt from 1989 😊 Rony is a doctor come actor and Roby is a cinematographer and now a director too
