अकसर जब हम Slums के बारे में सोचते हैं तो हमारे दिमाग में संकरी गलियां, 8’x8’ की झुग्गी और कूड़ें के बीच खेलते बच्चे हमारे दिमाग में आते हैं. ऐसा माना जाता है ये बच्चे दिशाहीन होते हैं. पर हमेशा ऐसा नहीं होता. इन बच्चों की आंखों में भी सपने बसते हैं. एक ही बच्चे थे Sandeep Kumar. Sandeep Kumar एक गांव से निकलकर अपने माता-पिता के साथ Delhi आए. यह वह अपने परिवार के साथ एक झुग्गी में रहते थे. Slum मेंं रहते-रहते Sandeep को Ragpicking, नशा करने की और भी कई दूसरी खराब आदतें लग गई. उनका पढ़ाई में ध्यान नहीं लगता था. पर एक दिन उनकी मुलाकात sylvester नाम के एक व्यक्ति से हुई जिन्होनें Sandeep के जीवन को नई दिशा दी और Sandeep ने Ragpicking छोड़कर Government Job की तैयारी शुरु कर दी. आज Sandeep Indian Bank में Chief Cashier के तौर पर काम कर कर रहें.
Usually, when we think about slums, a picture of narrow crowded streets and kids playing in the heap of dumping ground pops in our mind. It is believed that these children are directionless. But this is not always the case. They have dreams in their eyes.
Sandeep Kumar is one such child. Sandeep Kumar migrated from a village to Delhi with his parents. He lived in a slum with his family. While living in Slum, Sandeep got into many bad habits like Ragpicking, Drug Addiction and more. But one day he met a person named sylvester who gave a new direction to Sandeep's life. After this, he quits Ragpicking and started preparing for a Government Job. Today, he is working as Chief Cashier in Indian Bank.
