Helpful video but the loud and unnecessary music overshadowed the information I was looking for.

Hi i use this all the time but in my opinion you are not using the right brush try a coconut fibre sweeping brush head as it holds more tanking mix and load brush fully to 6 inch length then only spread it no more than 8 inches in diameter from target area so its very thick. have done this way for over 20 years for same landlord and walls are still dry as a bone

I enjoyed watching your video but unfortunately could hardly hear what you were trying to say because of your overpowering music which did not help at all. ☹️

Music too loud, but seeing the consistency of the mix was very useful. Also the instructions said I had to damp the wall thoroughly first. I also wore a mask, gloves ang eye protection as I didn't want the mix doing to my lungs what it did to my wall.

Would have been a great, informing video. But some bellend decided to put crap electro music all over the top of him speaking!

Yep, same here with the music overload thing - at least, I think it was music ... 🤔 It drowned out pretty much anything useful that was being said. Almost maybe worth re-doing without the music or a LOT lower? On the plus side, it was good to see the coverage and how it goes on. This says it's part 1 so I'll have a look at part 2. Also, this was done 5 years ago, so it'd be good to know what it's like now and whether it's held up and kept the water out.

I want to stop rising damp, do I tank the whole floor as well as the walls?

Yes, that's what I did in my basement and it helped.

For the slurry virgins, might be a good idea to mention this stuff dries damn fast and it is hard work to get it on before the mix starts going off

Can anyone reply please. Can I do this and laminate over it . ? Obviously I am going to put underlay. But is it ok to apply this and laminate over . Thank you
@closebuildingmaintenance59684 жыл бұрын
free snow I can’t see a problem with doing the floor as long as it’s concrete you’ll have to prep the floor clean and sbr bond the floor then tank once gone off Put a layer of self levelling over it then you can floor over will stop risings damp

On the KA tanking slurry tub it says to mix it using a 1:1 by volume ratio, this I did today but it was extremely thin, so I had to add a lot more of the powder to give it a good consistency, like yours. Greetings from sunny Clydach btw 👍

Apparently it's a good decongestant too. Take in a good lungful, then after about twenty minutes, cough up the small solid blocks of cement/mucus concoction, resulting in you feeling as if you've eaten a full packet of Tunes in one go!

@muddyfunker30145 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy, I've got a damp garage I've converted into a gym . It's an old stone structure. I'm currently ripping out old concrete and stone floor to install membrane then re pouring floor. My question, can I use this process on walls and then just paint over? Finish isn't important just need to stop damp coming up and through walls. I'll be improving ventilation too. Thanks.
@closebuildingmaintenance59685 жыл бұрын
Muddy Funker you need bond the walls sbr/pva ect to get a render coat over the walls let dry. Then tanking slurry the walls 2coats when dry render over. For Finnish then paint. Will hold the damp and water out. This garage is under ground had issues all the time now sorted the issue out
