And last week, a coroner in the east coast town of Tauranga found that two-month-old Marcus Te Hira Grey died from a brain haemorrhage following a severe beating by his father. These cases follow the recent release of a report into the gruesome killing last April of four-year-old James Whakaruru, beaten to death by his stepfather for failing to call him Dad. I remember as a kid being terrified of geckos because of all the korero I had heard about them, but I also remembered my nanny who knew the bible word for word in te reo and english, she held my hand and walked me through an area where geckos were numerous "I'd even have nightmares about this area" I remember her saying a karakia under her breath and being in awe watching them completely scatter from us, that was a beautiful moment. When she passed her little whare was burned down by her neighbours, what compelled them to do that I'll never know

I remember that when the film first came out many people here in Aotearoa New Zealand working in tourism marketing and promoting the country overseas were worried about the potential impact on the tourist industry. It doesn't have anything about were Maoris migrated from as they only landed on the shores of nz 650 years ago it has nothing about the people who were already in nz. Start looking into the real history of nz you will be really surprised and a bit pissed off with all the lies you've told

They were absolutely not united, They were constantly at war, committing genocide and slavery. Some of the early Europeans tried to convince them to unite and form a single country but they were unable to stop fighting which is why the British Empire eventually signed a treaty with them to form a country under the crown instead. Unfortunate that they were unable to unite but the outcome could have been much worse.
