Hiya, just clocked up 1400km (870 miles) on my Mantis Duo, which is I think same specs as your SE. I've done lots of group rides here in Brisbane, Australia and am quite confident of getting around 40kms (25miles) range out of it. After then, I get pretty nervous! Usually ride dual motor, Eco mode if I'm after max range, otherwise it's turbo, dual, gear 3 most of the time. Just got 2 punctures last month, so I have experienced your pain. My wife was with me on the first one, so she couldn't pick me up. Uber to the rescue :) Great videos! Love the ultra wide pole shots and will catch your next one for sure. :)

Wouldn't it be more effective if the regen setting is 3 instead of max so you can continuously have it on on down hill instead of flicking it on and off.
@kold17833 жыл бұрын
Plus keep in mind electric breaks use... Well... electricity so the stronger the break setting, the more electricity it uses/requires even if regen is more efficient at 5. Controllers are not friends with regen so position 1 or 2 is a safe bet especially when cruising and not going 40 mph all along like a mad man.

I have a few scooters, I have 2 ninebot max scooters, they are nice and built solid but they get boring very fast haha. Also have a emove cruiser which is amazing, put over 3,000 miles on it and just recently needed to replace tires and brakes. Also did the motor upgrade to the 1,000 w model so now it gets up to 31 mph which is pretty solid! And lastly a zero 10x which is a ton of fun. 40+ mph and that huge suspension is awesome.

I am considering buying my first scooter these days, both for fun and mainly for my daily commute. I am between Mantis Pro SE and Emove Cruiser. I really really enjoy the extra speed that Mantis provides, but my main concern, which I rarely see anyone addressing is what happens if it rains? Or even if it rained and now the road is wet. Is Mantis ok to ride under normal rain/wet conditions? I know that Mantis is not water resistant, but I am asking whether this means I cannot ride it at all in rainy days, or if it just means I should not splash it with water with my hose and run over big puddles? Any advice from any owner would be appreciated.
@GingerOnWheels2 жыл бұрын
I can't really speak to the mantis' water resistance ability with any personal experience. But I've heard of lots of people turning them into bricks after just 1 ride in the rain. The controllers are right near the front of the deck compartment and the fenders do nothing to prevent water splashing there. The emove on the other hand, I've sprayed down with a garden hose and nothing happened. The 2021 emove is probably going to be PLENTY of fun for a first time rider. 30mph is more than enough! I think voro motors still does 7% off with code GINGERONWHEELS , too. bit.ly/VoroEmoveCruiser

I have a Kaabo Mantis 8 base. Dual 500w motors give it great acceleration. However, the 48v 13ah system could be better on range. They should have made it 15.6 ah, however everything else is great about it. Dual suspension, tubeless tyres, good mechanical disk brakes. It's rated 25mph but it goes faster than that realistically, closer to 26-28mph. The range is most likely 20-25 miles depending on riding style and weight.

I’m looking for a fast commuter scooter that fits in the trunk of the car. I currently have the Segway max. range, weight, and size work fine. I just need some more speed to make quicker work of a 15-20 mile ride. The range of the emove cruiser is nice for the price point but it seems to lack real world speed. So, Mantis 8 Pro or the vsette 10+ appear to offer enough speed. Are they too heavy to easily load in a car trunk? Anything I’m missing?
@GingerOnWheels3 жыл бұрын
The mantis will be a bit trickier to load as the bars don't collapse as far. Its also slower than the 10+ by quite a bit. 27 amp controllers in the mantis vs 35 i believe in the vsett 10+ plus the grip part of the bars folds down the stem. Either way they will both be way faster than your current scoot 😉

Depends what terrain you want to ride. Do you need water proof? Range? Offroad capability? Hill climbing power? Speed? There is a scooter for every type of rider. In the $1200 range you'll be hard pressed to find something better than the Emove cruiser though. 23-25mph top speed, 55+ miles of range, turn signals, still folds up pretty small, full suspension, adjustable height. Plus you can still get the 7% off deal @ voromotors with the GINGERONWHEELS coupon.

@@c2thew come to think of it, it worked on a zappy scooter once and an electric mini bike, but that was like a 8” rim. Still curious how much difference that actually makes. Might do an official test one day.

Really???? @10:46 you said you’re losing weight just to make the range test more realistic 🤦♂️. What about doing it for yourself.
@GingerOnWheels3 жыл бұрын
I mean. I'm doing it for myself so that I can get more range. No other reason, really. I quite enjoy being chubby and eating Buffalo Wild Wings. But more realistic range tests are required.

That sucks! With those small inner tube tires, if they are ridden while being flat, it’s sometimes a tear in the inner tube where the metal valve stem meets the rubber. Since the tube/tire are able to spin on the rim, it pulls excessively on the valve stem.

Hope you do a one motor test... other videos, reviews etc suggest you should have done more. And if I ever buy one I don't want to be disappointed! lol

Ryan, you have to repeat it on single motor! It’s for science.

Looks like you finally fixed that phone/got a new one. Get a fat Otterbox defender for it.

I did! I finally got a replacement. I've got a case on it but you're right. A better one might be worth it.

That sucks! I'm 252 pounds, and I get 30 miles regularly on speed 3, 100 percent p setting on my emove cruiser with 20-25% battery left. I've put 600 miles on it so far with one front tire flat that I fixed on the side of the road with armordilloz and made it home fine. No flats since. I guess ppl by the mantis se just for weekend fun, not real micro mobility purpose. However, for the same price as a galaxy s21 ultra, or iphone max, I have a legit alternative transportation vehicle. To each is own I guess. Thanks for the review tho.

Ya the Emove Will go forevvvver on one charge. I love that scooter. But the mantis is for someone that can't do without that dual motor pep and speed.

May I suggest you get solid tires. I have had a flat 3 times on the Eagle and said F*** it and got one.....flats are no longer an issue for me.
@GingerOnWheels3 жыл бұрын
I'm taking this opportunity to slap on the offroad tires. Maybe solids later if I get another flat or two.
