The fact that the narrator uses his own mother tongue Wancho, a Naga and Tibeto-Burman language and the whole video is on Wancho in Wancho, impressed me. What I also noticed is, the older generation is mostly speaking in Wancho (it would have been better to hear all of them speaking it), which means the language is facing extinction soon, since opium is killing them faster.

to be completely honest I am an opiate addict and I am abundantly functioning. I make 70k a year, pay all my bills, have a nice car, saving for a house, eat healthy, and exercise daily. I also have time to work, do household chores, and take care of my family. it all comes down to discipline. I was 15 when I first ivd heroin. now I am no longer on the needle. I only use right before bed and never during the day. I used to think like these guys... "I cant work, I have to steal, I cant escape, etc". All it took was self control, good hygiene and a strong work ethic.

The euphoric preoccupation with death and power comes with the warrior caste and male bravado- a self induced altered state of purpose and self assuredness in the face of death. Only now the passion for living in the face of death is replaced with dope and death comes with no glory for the warrior or the tribe. Recovery reinvigorates this cause and effect drama between life and death with modern weapons of defense that restore a healthy balance between the quality of life and death of the people for years to come if they remain comitted.

This is one of the most beautiful cultures I've ever seen! How tragic that this is happening even in the most remote corners of the earth. Of course the white colonialists introduced it as a means to conquer these strong people. It's what they've always done at home and abroad. Now we're dealing with our own opiate crisis. Chickens coming home to roost. I was hooked on opium poppy pods for several years and it was the hardest opiate I've ever withdrawn from. But it's not hopeless. Sometimes the brain is changed so much by opiates that it's necessary to use substitutes for the duration of one's life, or at least many years. It's a shame kratom isn't available to them or medications like Suboxone. Anything that would allow them to lead normal lives.

@@hengkonyak4472 all this words have same meaning in northern naga groups like lowang/luwang/lungwang/wangham/angh which originates from proto-sino tibetan "wang". Which means chief or king of a village in most of northern naga groups. Among the northern naga groups noctes and especially wanchos both of lower region has much more contact with ahoms and relationship. Which you can find all over ahom buranjis a history notes of ahom. Its not naga there but " noga"to be specific .raja or roja came to be used much later by hindi/hinduism influence on the plains upon ahoms and other tribes. During the early contact of this period among this groups is how the present term "naga" a british mispronounced word from the word "noga" came into existence. Which is a further mispronounced word of the term "nok". Meaning (group of people/a village or community of people) in most northern naga groups like tangsa/nocte/tutsa/ollo/wancho-konyak. The above present tribes were not known by this names to the ahoms but by village or sometimes clan names. Some villages were friends with ahoms while some were enemies. It all depended upon situation and mostly resources like mainly salt springs which was situated on the foothills which the naga tribes inhabited in. The first group to encounter and resist the ahoms were from the " tang" origin group of northern nagas. Which the ahoms has written as "tangsu/tongsu" nogas in early 13th century. You should know that most of northern nagas has same origin from 2 brotherly clan of tang and shang origin and many other offshoot clans later. So many northern nagas are sometimes grouped as tangshang naga group. Which includes most of the northern nagas in arunachal,nagaland,myanmar and assam. Many young kids and modern people wont know this. While most tribes in northern naga clearly doesn't have this particular clanship but in tangsa or tangshang tribe there exist two groups.the tang and shang origin which you would find in nocte/wancho/konyak and many other tribes who share origin with those two brotherly clan. Myself belong to a tang origin of tangsa of arunachal pradesh. My fiance from shang origin of my same tribe. Tang moved earlier on western or you can say indian side earlier while shang moved later and remains more in myanmar side. Example Nscn k khaplang belongs from proper tangshang tribe of shangwal/shangwan subtribe of tangsa or tangshang from myanmar. He was from shang origin.

They mention that their ancestors grew opium for their own consumption, but obviously these peoples impoverishment comes as a result of criminalization. There is no reason for them to be suffering from these health complications and be unable to live functionally as a result of consuming opium alone. If consumption is regulated, the greatest complication would be occasional constipation and this and other side-effects can be mitigated by other natural botanicals. The thing is is that American military intel interests found addiction to be an excellent social disruption tool. By encouraging other nations to comply with their War With Drugs they were able to instigate this type of disruption within these societies, while at the same time creating a vast source of Black-Ops funding. The black-market has MASSIVE mark-ups, is tax-free and it's products are free from regulation. Carcinogenic research drugs have been showing up in Chinese Fentanyl, which I guess means that they get free "guinea pigs" instead of relying on inaccurate vivisection testing. Harm Reduction and controlled decriminalization could halt this genocide. Unfortunately, the generations of propaganda, combined with that special type of American moral stance which perceives pleasure as a crime has death rates exploding exponentially past war casualty tallies...

The health issues they suffer are more likely due to malnutrition due to criminalization induced poverty, combined with poor or non-existant health care.

They are not allowing the sales of poppy seeds or poppy straw for medicine like Turkey has done. As long as Opium poppy remains illegal gor these people to sell to outside Markets, the people will have no choice except to use it. That is where the addiction comes in. Let them grow it for profit. That way they won't have to sell their farms! The United Nations/United States/New World order crowd forced turkey to do the same thing in the 70s as Myanmar is doing to its people today. The Turkish people almost went into revolution over this and everybody backed down. Now the Turks grow opium poppies, sell the dried pods for medicine and the seeds for food.
@darkmadder98975 жыл бұрын
@@sunnybeaches1331 Thanks for sharing this detail! I got how the introduction happened, the Brits used it as a weapon war and then the Americans adopted the tactic after using criminalization to dispense with the Chinese "coolies" exploited to build the railway and no longer useful despite grand promises. The drug had been a powerful tool when workers were needed for dangerous, often fatal work, to keep them placated away from families and relationships. Playing both sides of Criminalization has generated Spectacular profits for black-ops and created a vast privatized prison system - At once a University for racial segregation, petty crimes exponentializing as youth are branded for life, and a slave camp for the Corporatocracy. Cocaine similarly was used by the CIA as a social disruption tool against African American communities dropping "crack" rock cocaine on LA, under Reagan, trading guns to send South American Socialist dreamers to the realm of the "disappeared" while they simultaneously poked Iran with a stick. I have known many people who are fully functional professionals - Lawyers, Judges, Actors, etc., as long as they were CAREFUL about their dosage, they had no problems and their health was no different than most and people don't perceive them as "junkies". The people who get the most attention are impoverished and therefore get exploited and targeted. A lot of the most vulnerable people already tend to have a host of issues - mental, etc. which also makes them very visible, people can point and tell their kids - " that is what happens if you use drugs!", but this is far from true. A lot of these rich folks buy huge amounts, take out what they need to get by and then flip it to people who bust out some, until it gets flipped down to the street, by which time it is DANGEROUS MYSTERIOUS SHIT. In this way THEY can functionally consume, while mitigating their risk of being busted for selling drugs - other folks take the risk. In the end the people who get busted into the system are poor little fucked up people, just trying to support their own habits and get by. Portugal has decided to say "Fuck You" - to fucking themselves on behalf of the US, I truly look forward to see the progress of the Harm Reduction model... PEACE>

@@darkmadder9897 good observations. Our OWN politicians got into the drug 'trade' in Colombia after seeing how easy it is to make money from it. Example; Clinton, Barry Seal connection. Is it funny that the British destroyed lives by selling opium? Remember Opium was illegal in England so they knew what they were doing.

@@kimmvsp5141 arent kuki grouped in different group. konyak-wancho and the tangsa-nocte along with bordering myanmar nagas are clubbed together in northern naga groups of sal group linguistically aslo known as bodo-jingpho-konyak group. kuki might be similar to chin in myanmar as we the northrn naga group shares with kachin the closest to us outside our group i think. its awesome actually many of the northeastern tribes with tibeto-burman languages have similarity with each other.even with some hilly nepali tribals language and tibtans.

opium is overly demonized. Much of the harms come from people not being educated on safe substance use, and the existing poverty in the area. Legalize and educate people rather than criminalize and stigmatize them
