Kabomo and Nothende gave us a timeless gem here
@savynsavvy21804 жыл бұрын
[Intro: Kabomo] In my people’s quest for true freedom I pray that we unmasked ourselves from everything that allows us to love 'cos love is true freedom And that’s what freedom is [Chorus: Nothende] Painting a picture With every word that I bring to you Singing the colour of you 'Cos you know this Love in the music Love is the message I bring to you Love is a colour of you [Verse 1: Kabomo] The day uh, the day uh Open your eyes so you can see what I'm facing Hoping you'll find that you're free like a Mason Coping you're fine and you won't sink like a basin You're chosen in time to redeem those chasing the cause Those freedom fighters, those saving us all Reading writers, those taking a fall For a nation appalled At the numbers we are raking to morgues We draw a line, so we breaking these laws Sometimes we stand still Watching the government attend deals With war lords who came to kill A fax later, man, we get the bill The tax payer man the gape is sealed So we ask questions about the names The shame and the pain we feel And it's unfortunate The same shit in every country on this continent The same shit that makes us angry at the consequence It's a burning lane Steve Biko in a turning grave I see a hero who came to save Feeling lethal in the baddest way 'Cause love is the colour of you [Chorus: Nothende] Painting a picture With every word that I bring to you Singing the colour of you 'Cos you know this Love in the music Love is the message I bring to you Love is a colour of you [Bridge: Nothende] Every song that I sing is a portrait Of freedom that love can bring And with every melody you should see that The colour of this love is a reflection of you [Verse 2: Kabomo] Open your eyes so you can see the sacrifice That your forefathers gave to cushion you like pillow fights I'm hoping you'll find that you will need a pen to write How sick we define ourselves I think we lost our minds when we towed the lines The Philistines shoot first and ask last and They'll break your spine, too fast, and guns blast when They take your time and choose chance with no advancement And my assessment is that I would need truth for clarity like a cat scan I'm going insane, mad confusion I'm losing my way, whatever road we're choosing A product of rage, an optical illusion Everything I do is just a cue to get me boozin' Give me some love to get me feeling human To receive that freedom from skies To redeem what we're feeling inside Because fear is just a demon a lie I shed a tear, because I'm keeping alive Because love is the colour of you and that's true [Chorus: Nothende] Painting a picture With every word that I bring to you Singing the colour of you Coz you know this Love in the music Love is the message I bring to you Love is a colour of you

I just moved back to Lesotho in South Africa after 45 yrs living in Calif and working in the entertainment industry. The talent here in South Africa is incredible. I am working on bringing African American R&B artists as well as old school hiphop as well to do shows with South African artists. I just went to a show yesterday with Howard Hewett, Alexander Oneil and Glenn Jones as well as local South African artists in Soweto Johnnesburg and it was amazing

I didn't know Kabomo had this side about him. Somehow I sold an idea and image that he was just a jazz and soulful brother. I didn't know he could throw powerful bars like these. Hearing this from a radio I thought they made a mistake to say it's Stoogie T. Damn big up Kabomo
