Such an amazing idea. Would definitely want to watch this live if I could

I went to see this. It was amazing! I suppose I like it better because I’ve played the game, but it was easier to understand than traditional kabuki. I got moved several times during the play 🥲🥺 The arrangements of the soundtrack were amazing too, with live performance of shamisen players and singers (they appear on stage!) Worth watching!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I really hope this gets filmed and sold digitally somewhere. I'd love to watch it with subtitles. Even though I've done multiple FFX playthroughs.

It looks like everyone has done an amazing job translating the game into a fantastic Kabuki proformance! If I have a chance to, I'll definitely watch it!

Imagine Rikku use Mix Overdrive on stage with a lot of Effects & Fireworks everywhere. Rikku is Kunoichi in Kabuki Verse. (Small & Agility yet powerful with her Items)💥💣

Does anyone know if this Final Fantasy X stage version will be filmed for Netflix the way they did Adadousuzunosuke?

I sure hope so.

I admit I don't story wise, but I do love these collaborations with current popular media and kabuki. After all, this is how was viewed when it started, it was the theatre for the non-noble citizenry of the emerging urban centers! It was and is flashy and introduced many stage devices to surprise audiences. For current audiences it just seems less so because we are used to movies, TV and video games. That's not to say I don't want them to keep doing old productions, but these and original productions will introduce Kabuki to new audiences as they keep its spirit alive.

It might just be me but Rikku, Tidus, Yuna, and a few other characters have the same face shape. Almost like the same person.

No, sorry. I don't like this Kabuki haha. I think they're not yet adapting the anime, manga, or games that are best for Kabuki.
@scorpioninpink Жыл бұрын
Not adopting to modern times and creating new works will kill Kabuki as an art.

I love the Ennosuke line because they are innovators, I have no problem with adapting Kabuki to modern times. This adaptation is just cringey.

Kind of dumb that they continue to keep kabuki exclusively male actors….. it was originally performed by both men and women before sexist laws changed things…. Why would you keep a tradition of sexism?
