Heya! Thanks for the vid! Question: At 2:05 you said you've already applied your adhesive tape to the backing plate. Ummm... what adhesive tape??? It's not in the manual, there was none in the box, it's not mentioned in any other install guides I can find, but the plate certainly LOOKS like it should have something there, and the once I screw in the mounting screws, it is really loose, which makes me think something should definitely be there. So, what is it? Where is it? Why don't I have it? Where do I get it? What can I use instead? I basically won't install my Corsair H115i to my i7-7700K in my Gaming 9 mobo until I feel comfortable knowing it is safe to do so.

Can that honkin' big plastic piece over the I/O area be removed? I looked at images of the back, but can't tell it is it riveted to the board or not. I'm doing a build for this board and have everything but the board, but realize that the 240mm Thermaltake Water 3.0 would not fit in the case with that plastic piece on the board. Do you have to put the thermal putty on the processor when using these types of radiator or did I miss you doing that?
@jackfolloway33545 жыл бұрын
Yes, you do still use thermal paste. Unfortunately, we didn't show the bottom side of the CPU block in this video but Ryan mentions @7:30 that the cooler has pre-applied thermal paste when he removes the protective cover. It turns out, we used this cooler once before, which is the reason it didn't get shown here. You can watch the previous build with this cooler to see the same cooler, showing the pre-applied thermal paste: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iam7f5qnrbFmfa8

Electricity doesn't have in turned off computer, so the question is pretty simple. HOW does electricity have in turned off computer? Wrist band seems pointless when computer is off.
@ravinchowdhury52157 жыл бұрын
If you're electrically charged, (if you've walked on a carpet or something) it will cause static discharge from your body to the motherboard which can damage the components. So you use an anti static wrist band so you're electrically neutral to prevent any damage to the computer

I have 2 silly questions. I am planning on buying this motherboard: 1. Why did he not use any thermal paste when connecting the cooling fans to the CPU? If I buy the Kraken x52 would I need to use any? 2. If the computer case that I buy has no cd driver slot how would I install the drivers? thanks in advance!
@dhiren_joshi7 жыл бұрын
Mar Esca For the first one, yes you would have to. For the second one, use a USB drive. Having an internal CD drive is not reccomend, as it's practically useless right now. Get a external one if you need it. The case doesn't come with it, you have to buy it.

Hi, PCPartPicker, maybe, someone already asked this, but here we go: I am curious about that message which appears as a note, on your website: "The motherboard M.2 slot #0 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6Gb/s ports are disabled." It is no big deal, right? Specially, if you have 6 ports like it is the case here. But why some high-end (and expensive) motherboards show this message?
@Wingmeal7 жыл бұрын
Because there are a limited number of PCI lanes for storage, gpus etc to use. Any motherboard has this. And 4 sata ports is enough for any normal user (1 M.2 SSD, 1 2.5 inch SSD, 2 3.5 inch HDDs).
@mikes26877 жыл бұрын
Adriano Sousa just like the other guy says ur cpu has so many lanes it can use. i lose 4 sata ports on my gaming 7 board if i use m.2 in first port. then non in 2nd m.2
@logodedalo7 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Mike and Alex. I understand that, the question is why some mobos don't show this message: like the MSI Carbon X99 (U$299,00) doesn't show it, for example. Well, again, I know its a complicated example. But there are less expensive ones, the mini itx Asus Z170I PRO GAMING, whenever you mount a pc on PCPartPicker website it doesn't show the message. Does it?

Do u think is the motherboard's fault...I have an Asus prime z270-p or the power supply (it is an xilence xp730r8 with 730watts)?
@davejones5427 жыл бұрын
I am building a PC exactly to this specification. However I stuck on the below. So I am looking for your advise as to specifically which two motherboard headers I should use for this thermaltake cooler it is not clear on the video. Thermaltake supply two connectors to go to motherboard - one connector wire for the pump and one connector wire from the thermaltake supplied fan hub . On the Gigabyte motherboard there seem to be three connectors that I might use, "CPU_FAN", "CPU_OPT" and "SYS_FAN5_PUMP" - but I may have this incorrect hence this question! The cooler pump has 3pin connector; the cooler fan hub has 4 pin connector. so which two specific motherboard headers do I plug the wire from the thermaltake pump and the which do I plug the wire from the thermatake fan hub. thank you.
