You can buy a hitch adapter if you have a different hitch size compared to the item you are carrying.

Thanks, Kathy, as I'm about to order that exact carrier/rack soon. I've had a Lectric XP since they came out. Couple things have or are about to change. First, I have a different vehicle and so the folding XP won't fit inside, so need a difference solution. Secondly, I just ordered a non-folding larger ebike, so needed something to be able to take it on the road when I desire. Nice video, looks like it shouldn't be a big deal, probably like you 45-60 minute job.

Good luck with your new rack. Hope you like it. Still using mine, and it’s working great, I love it. Have fun! Appreciate you watching and your comment. : )

Thanks Kathy - You made this way easier for me ESPECIALLY pointing out that it folds in two places. I completely missed that pin that folds the hook rack down so I thought I was stuck driving it as is. You rock!

So, now for the big question: How did it work with the Lectric XP? The music, by the way, it interesting.

The tire brackets (R&L) should be alternated (inserted 1st on one side, second on the other) to allow for flexibility to mount different size bikes.

I just installed this rack on my Jeep. I don't know what those plastic things are for either :) I do notice there is some "play" in the hitch on mine. I have to install a 1 1/2" adapter to my 2" hitch. I'm not sure if I have to tighten the bolt more that goes into the hitch with the lock or not.
@kat2tree2 жыл бұрын
That's nice. Hope it works out good on your Jeep. Sorry took me a minute to get back to you on this, I was trying to find Eric Gray's comment on those plastic things, He wrote: "Those little plastic pieces that are unidentified actually fit inside of the clamp fittings for the short hook and long hook. I suppose they are extra in case one cracks." Sounds right, hope this helps. And yes. you need to tighten that bolt. Enjoy your new bike rack, it's awesome!!! : ))

Just to confirm, is this for 1.25inch receiver? I have looked at hitch mount bike rack online, and I could rarely find any for 1.25 inch receiver. I am thinking of buying a 1.25 inch to 2 inch adapter.
@kat2tree3 жыл бұрын
Yes, 1.25" receiver hitch is what I have. Hope that helps.

So did you ever figure out what those plastic things were?
@kat2tree4 жыл бұрын
Chelsey Jackson no, I’m still trying to figure that one out. Very puzzling 🤔 to me for sure. Still thinking it works with the strap they gave me, but haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. : )

I haven’t either! 😂 I put mine together last night. Seems like a nice product! If you ever figure it out, let me know 🙂

@@chelseyjackson1798 after contacting KAC those 2 pieces are spare bar clamps for either the wheel holders or the hook arms if one gets broken.
@nlerias14 жыл бұрын
Is there a lock on the upper frame hook? From another video I saw that the KAC overdrive 2” has a lock on there
@kat2tree4 жыл бұрын
yes, there is. Very nice to be able to lock the top one and that secures the bottom one as well. Because you would have to take the top one off to remove the bottom one. Hope that helps...

I wouldn't put that much weight on a 1.25 hitch.......get a 2 in mount.....js
@kat2tree4 жыл бұрын
My hitch is rated at 2,000 lbs. and my bike rack is rated at 60 lbs. each bike. Just make sure you check your hitch and bike rack for the weight you need and make sure your hitch and bike rack can handle what you intend to haul. In my case I did just that and I'm well under the max weight capacity. So, each situation is different of course. Get what works for you and be safe out there and do your research to make sure your in the specks you need for your situation.
@gman57943 жыл бұрын
@@kat2tree The hitch rating is for towing, not supporting weight.
@kat2tree3 жыл бұрын
You’re right. It’s 200 lbs. for the tongue weight, so we’re still good with this one. With 2 Lectric XP’s at 60lbs. and the rack you would be under 200lbs. Enjoy the ride! Appreciate your comment and stopping by…
