I don’t usually comment on things and I know no one will see this or care but I just completely started bawling my eyes out listening to this. I so vividly remember downloading this song on my little iPod back in 7th grade. I loved the song so much. I haven’t heard it in yearssss until I stumbled upon this video today. There have been some serious changes in the world and who I am since I last heard the song. Loss of many family members and friends, 2 suicide attempts, sexual assault, and my unplanned pregnancy had to be terminated yesterday, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Long story short, lots of heartbreak. Listening to this again made me think of my younger 13 year old self and who I was back then. Don’t know where that simple thing went. Just made me sad and nostalgic. Kacey’s voice always hits deeply different.

I was held spellbound by this song and the performance by these wonderful artist's, this song resonates a relationship I had when I was a teenager in the 1970s , the places that Debbie and i spent time together are all in the lyric's of this song and it brings back quite fond memories. She was my first love and although we broke up ( I had to move away with my family) I always missed her and wished we never parted ways 44 years ago.

This song is so important to me. When I turned nine, my dad took me on a birthday trip to Phoenix and got me a Sony psp. He preloaded it with two albums. How to dismantle an atomic bomb by U2, and Hopes and dreams by Keane. So somewhere only we know has always brought me a flood of emotions. And continues to remind me of how my dad helped me create my taste in music.

LYRICS I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river and it made me complete Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know? Oh simple thing where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go? So why don't we go? Ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah This could be the end of everything So why don't we go Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know? I only found out about her after her big Grammy win and now I absolutely love her! She has one of those voices that even people like me who dislike country normally can enjoy, like Dolly Parton or the Dixie Chicks- just beautiful and calm and takes over your whole soul, more folk than country

Every here and there you will find a woman "as sweet as pie." Finding one sweeter than pie as evidenced by this performance is a first for me. She is very talented, charming, and witty. If you are lucky enough to see Kacey perform live (31 of her next 32 performances over the next six months in the USA are sold out) if you could give her loud applause many of us would appreciate it. Thank you in advance. P.S.: Good support here with the gifted band members, a super high-quality video/audio by the BBC, and Versace (maker of her shirt, I assume) really makes her glow here.

I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river and it made me complete Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Oh simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So why don't we go? So why don't we go? Oh, this could be the end of everything So why don't we go somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Somewhere only we know
