First of all I love Kacey and have been a fan of hers from the very beginning. I would never thumbs down her. Star-Crossed is a good album with some great songs. But this is my least favorite album of hers. For starters, she was a true old-school country singer and writer which really shined in her earlier albums. I can respect that as an artist she wants to branch out into different sounds. But it's what many country artists who make it big do, like going full pop, pop/country, more mainstream. and it feels like a loss for the fans who loved her original works & feel. Second most of her earlier songs were catchy, unique, witty, and had fun word play which I feel is missing from many (not all) songs on Star-crossed. So I guess this boils down to her trying new things with this album and the change being hard on longtime fans. But regardless it is still a beautiful album and I plan on following Kasey forever because her music and lyrics are truly gifts

Like the hook up scene . She never sings a bad song. Wonder what it would have sounded like with piano and violin? Just seems kinda sparse to me. I like straight up country from her especially. This soft, vulnerable , emotional stuff is okay. Just not my cup of tea. Kinda getting into Taylor Swift Territory. In my mind she had one good album . Her first one. Taylor Swift I mean.That's just me though. Kacey is kinda going off in left field in my book. Playing to the wokers. Instead of the workers. Needs to burn one and write a hit Country Song. LOL

Wow, Kacey really did something with this song. I love how she captured this feeling so well, it's the same way I've been feeling after leaving a long term relationship and re-entering the hook up scene. I've had some great times with regular partners but after the fact once the magic has worn off it kinda just feels unfulfilling and like somethings missing. Made me realize that I want real connection along with the sex that a relationship can bring, nothing compares to it. I found myself crying to this song cause it was great to hear someone saying this, it doesn't get talked about enough.

I’ve been battling with emotional apathy and haven’t been able to connect with music at all like I used to... I used to be a musician and could feel all the music I played and sang... I went then through a breakup. It hurt me so bad.... I still battle with listening to music. To feel the connection with it. But this song broke me.... I started bawling my eyes out. I’ve been a kacey fan since the beginning, I’ve seen her live and been a fan-girl ever since. But I feel very let down with a lot of the songs. This song was one that I felt had some depth. Most of her music has been deep, metaphorical and I resonated so much to it. “Cherry blossom” “star-crossed” and “justified” lyrics left me feeling let down. I feel like I do when I see “live laugh love” signs. The lyrics were lacking and repetitive and I felt there was more detail in the movie and less on the depth of the music.
