This movie had depicted the pictures of 19th century India. The marriage process of then India, where brides were very smaller to her grooms. Though Thakurbari was a Bengal's cultural hub but they also fall pray to this patriarchal rigidity. Robi's loves towards Kadombori was pure like flowers. In his creation there was contribution of Kadombori Devi. I have watched this flim 8 times. Parambrata, kankana, kaushik all acted very well. Cinematography is so nice.

What I am going to say is fully self opinionated. A time was there when i have disliked Tagore for the same reason but I never hated his creativity and his works. But after few years at my current age, I think disliking him is very stupid and childish. Tagore is someone who has a place in the list of legendary humans,. Why? Bcoz of his excellent works. We must appreciate him, respect him. (NOTE- Self Opinionated) Now putting that aside, Kadambari case is a very private matter of the Tagore family. At that time, we weren't present there to judge the wrong or the right thing. Since then , there were definitely lot of articles released about this case. Like, most news nowadays are forged so much, same kind of news fabricating ideas was prevalent at that time. People used to spread news according to reader's taste. In the end we actually don't know what really happened. And if we talk about our movies, then this movie is not a documentary, this movie is a complete commercial biography, and commercial movies are made while keeping few things like- what kind of content majority of viewers would like. So judging people on grounds like this is very childish. P.S- everything above is written in polite manner. No offence meant.

History , especially when it comes to family of any particular person who in present is world famous, will always have some fabricated and few self made Stories. Examples- so many Jodha Akbar, movies like Bajirao , padmavat etc u see , these movies are based on theories and self made Stories. Even if their names are mentioned in history widely. It not as wide as these commercial broadcasts. So if we precisely say Kadambari story, it's a girl who was married to big bro of tagore. Then, gradually an illegitimate affair took place between the girl and Tagore. This kinda relationship at that period of time and in that kind of environment was always shameful in the eyes of surrounding people leading to a mental pressure, depression etc on that girl(also other issues I don't know are included too), so what will a girl in that kind of environment during that period would do?? Suicide was the easiest way for her. So in that we don't exactly know each and every thing what took place in the family. I can give you a lot of theories that can answer her reason to suicide. Likewise there are a 1000 people who could give the same

U see cases like Kadambari Devi had happened many a times during that time, and it's happening till date in many of the households. Tagore is a notable writer, and so it's very common to have this kind of negative backstories, each and every one of the famous personalities from past to present are having some kind of phases like this. Kadambari Devi sure gets our empathy. What your teacher said is absolutely right, at that young age far from home it's very common to have feelings if you find a likeable someone of same age ,also you gradually hit puberty at that time so what would that lil girl do with all those anxious worries and emotions which are illegitimate in society
