Weird how things work out. For me Sana's graduation showed me that I was getting better. I had been stuck in a major depressive phase for a couple years by that point; decades of mental issues collapsing in on me. But I was getting professional help and slowly but surely getting back to being stable. And Sana's graduation for me was a milestone, because for the first time in ages I was a "normal" amount of sad. Yes, I cried. Quite a lot even. But it wasn't the extremes I had experience during depression, where I would either feel nothing at all or completely shut down and be unresponsive for days. It was a weird bittersweet feeling. But it made it easier to accept it. Sana was there when I needed her bubbly bright personality the most - but now I was functional enough to not have to be scared of every little bit of change. It's nice to see her do so well in her career these days. Was great to hear her voice again recently.

I’ve always said that Sana was like that type of character in movies/tv whose departure realigns the plot. Kind of like Agent Coulson in the first Avengers. I wish I knew what that trope is called. Basically, everyone likes them and they’re appreciated, but it takes them leaving to make people realize what really matters. Their departure changes people’s perspective and their legacy makes people stronger. She was one of the purest Holomems we’ve ever had, and evidence suggests she was incredibly supportive behind the scenes. Altare and Magni talked about how she gave them support and advocated for not delaying the Stars EN debut until after she graduated. Kaela and Kobo still occasionally talk about her almost two years later. Korone and other JPs regretted not collabing with her more when she left, and Watame built a monument to her in Minecraft. Before debut, she was the one who spoke first and broke the ice between Council in their first group chat. She really did touch everyone, whether she meant to or not, or even if it was just in a small way. Sometimes I wonder what other little things she did behind the scenes that people remember her for. Every single Holomem has an enduring legacy and noticeable impact on the company. But it really feels like Sana’s outsized the relative short time we had with her.

When I first discovered ID back in 2022, thanks to the zombie, the alogrithm constantly shoved Gen 3 in front of me. But i didn't want the algorithm to choose my oshi, I wanted to discover mine with my own deliberate intention. This is one of the big reasons why I chose the Keris from Gen 2. I barely knew a thing about her at that time. But she had a twin in HoloEN. Despite being quite familiar with this branch, I had completely overlooked Tsukumo Sana. I made a plan for November to secretly join the Sanallites because I wanted to see the Pokemon nerd in action. I was devastated when she announced her graduation before that. She was gone before I'd gotten a proper chance to known her. Its the only graduation that has moved me to tears, even my divorce a year prior didnt bring me to that. I watched Anya's playthrough instead, in the end. She still doesnt quite get the type match-ups 😅.

When I decided to stop ignoring the algorithm & looked into what was being recommended (actually found a probable why, even), I didn't click on the clip (don't remember what was recommended). I sought out the source, then chose a stream to watch. A game I'd not looked much into, but knew enough about to follow, & learn both about the girls & the game. Gura stood out. So, I found Gura, in a very backwards way, to everyone else. Most find Gura, then discover their oshi. I just found Hololive & gravitated to the shark, naturally. I didn't watch Sana, much. Even back then, EN just put out too much content, to even try to watch everyone. & she was a bit too bubbly for my taste. But when Sana joined collabs, or I did watch her stream, she was very unique. Often came off big sisterly, to EN.

@remus_lupin I'm very much a part of the norm, in that regard. I found the shark first and delved deeper until I found HoloID. Sana never took herself too seriously, truly living in the moment. I wish I possessed that type of energy. The few that match that carefree attitude, as far as I can think of, are Zeta, Kobo, and Biboo... Maybe a bit of Iofi, too!
