u just gotta distance yourself emotionally from the match at hand and realise how pathetic the toxic nerds in this game are. then you can just laugh at how fucking stupid he is for getting so mad over a video game, rather than hurt or upset at what he said. im still trying to find a balance tbh. unfortunately sometimes this distancing doesnt let you connect and have fun with the cool people in your matches, so once you meet them you say to yourself "oh okay ill be more of myself in the moment". but by being more open you make yourself more emotionally vulnerable and if somebody is a dick to you again you feel more hurt than if you kept closed lmao. happened to me recently.
