Maybe it's a bit cliche, but today we need a show that shows compassion and positivity at the collective level. We've experienced a lot of stories containing backstabbing, toxic rivalry, or social discrimination. Overall factor in our life, this show made us chill, appreciate a good way to see life, and have a positive mind in the environment. Even with that daily dose of Kaiju attack.

Absorbing other kaiju powers and breeding them. Most likely its the main antogonist of the whole manga. Kaijus menace incarnate Also spoilers below: Last arc I stopped reading involved massive attack with like 5 or so fort 9.0+ named new kaijus bred specificly to eliminate best officers separatly (with personalized flavour) And In the process he dropped dozens or even a hundred of 8.0 daikaijus all over Tokyo just to stall things and get to Mina and her artillery "talent" while everyone is fighting to death. But worry not - all major characters (hoshina, kikoru, reno, ichikawa himself etc) got maaaaajor power updrages (mostly numbered kaiju suits like commander had) in some months-length training and are actually seem to have a slim fighting chance
