As a result, he gains the ability to transform into a humanoid kaijuu with the strength and powers of the massive monsters menacing Japan. Dubbed "Kaijuu No. 8" by the military, Kafka resolves to use his newfound gifts for the greater good. Tied together by mutual respect, Kafka and Reno set out to join warriors like Mina at the forefront of the Defense Force.

Funny how Kafka's Kaiju is all about wiping off it's own race and what does Isao do? Bring a kaiju presence before him and when Kafka decides not to fight Isao the parasite just goes "we only kill kaiju, don't think about who or what. Kaiju bad, kaiju unalive agenda."

This is honestly one of my favorite tropes that I see so rarely. "I will force you to be what I already think you are: a monster I must destroy." Then the monster emerges to defend itself to the killing end, and "live and let live" is no longer on the table, and there's no moral end to it if anyone dies, and de-escalation may not even work. It's so rich with questions.

Throughout the story, Kafka is suppressing kaijuu 8 intends to kill. If he wants to unleash kaijuu 8 power in the fullest. He needs to release the kaijuu's killer instinct, be able to control it, and then suppress even in the Manga, he is still suppressing it.

SPOILERS: Even in his "suppressed rage" form, him learning troop-style and hoshina-style bumped him lots in the power department. He's able to overpower kaiju no. 14 with ease and oneshots fortitude 9.0 kaiju no problem. his biggest issue is kaiju no 9 is basically going broly on him that unless he and Mina gets a one shot kill against 9's core, they won't win. Kafka still wins individually but 9's resourcefulness puts him above 8 for now.

he isn't supressing anything he just isn't able to use everything the kaiju can give, the actual kaiju no 8 wants to kill kaiju, kafka does that already it's satisfied, the reason it got out of control now is because kafka is staring down a suit and weapon made from kaiju no 2, another daikaiju, yet kafka refuses to kill it despite this threat trying to kill kafka so kaiju no 8, who sees shinomiya not as a human wearing a daikaiju set but rather a fullblown daikaiju that is threatening it's life decide to take the wheel and deal with this itself rather than risk losing it's life or host

It's important to mention this for the ones that failed to spot it, but Kaiju N°8, Not Kafka, the actual Kaiju is a Kaiju that hates all Kaiju. He's the Kaiju Killer per say, He doesn't want to kill Isao Shinomiya. But, because Isao is wearing Kaiju N°2 as a weapon. The instincts dictated that he should kill The user of those gauntlets. What makes this terrifying, is that in the manga, Kikoru has the weapons of the 6th, Hoshina has the weapons of the 10th, Narumi has the weapons of the 1st, and Ichikawa has the weapons of the 4th. So unless kafka starts to control this power, they could all be facing up against him in the future.

This entire argument is pointless, fact this trope is pointless. If he was fully kaiju and wanted to kill humans that mom and her daughter would have been long dead, BETTER YET WHY WOULD HE PUT HIMSELF AT RISK TO SAVE A BASE OF HUMANS. They really need to throw away the “you saved us now i must arrest you” trope.

Kafka, at the end of the day, is still a Kaiju, the very same monsters the Defense Force swore to eradicate. He may have saved everyone (and we the audience know he's a hero), but obviously the higher-ups aren't going to trust him, especially considering that he infiltrated the ranks of the Defense Force while disguising himself as an ordinary human. For all they know, he could easily have been a spy. That's not to say they'd be right, since Kafka is obviously a good person, but the Defense Force isn't going to just be lenient without at least 100% making sure he wouldn't hurt others, which is what they're doing here.

Yeah but nobody knows if he has full control. If Kafka gets cornered, will he start killing off Defense Force people too? It'd be kind of unfortunate to have the ultimate weapon against your enemy and have it unexpectedly betray you, even unwillingly, at the most crucial moment. Now they know he won't ignore provocation, but also that the kaiju's priority is destroying kaiju, not being an ally to the defense force.

Not to mention, I'm sure they just did that as protocol. I'm confident that if they had a concrete way of making sure that Kafka's secret doesn't reach beyond the Third Division, they wouldn't have arrested him. Mina outright said that no one in the Third Division thought Kafka was bad, and were only working to make sure that he gets out of this safe and sound.
