as far as content, you are currently on the tutorial island basically, once you complete the current set of quests you'll open a portal to the much larger island and there are quite a few more quests, and more upgrades/tech advancements. I've only gotten to the first part of the bigger island so I'm not sure how much more but there are at least 8 more shrines each with their own requirements.

To eliminate confusion: your chests will broadcast their contents to nearby crafting tables. Using the build menu requires you to haul rocks and the like yourself. Also, you can only have ONE food bonus and ONE potion bonus, newer ones will overwrite the older ones. So you should basically have Cooked Meat and Stamina Salve as your active bonuses: the meat provides health regen over time.

the flowers do glow pretty noticeably at night its just your 100 percent brightness that's dulling them

You are just on the starter world, there's alot to do in the other world. You need alot of ambrosia, get them when possible (night). You will be able to get the pickaxe shortly, keep playing and you open alotttt

You can craft at crafting benches from your chests. When you have the fire spit outside make sure it is on a foundation with a roof over it or else it will not cook while it rains or just build it inside your house.

It's not craft out of chest, you can craft on workbench's out of chests.

Don't waste time on your starter island base, as it gets left behind. main island is where you real base will be. I spent hours manually carrying all my mats to new base. Game is very fun.

Another tip, best chance to get 3 star animal carcasses is with a HEADSHOT from a bow. Never got better than a 1 star from melee kills and even a 1 shot with a bow gives 2 star at best if it's not a headshot.

ambrosia flowers are only pickable at night there are a few things that you only get at night time also certain chests can only be opened at night. i do like how they give you a purpose to stay up at night because certain items are only obtained at night im wondering if certain missions are also night time quest's.... I find going after the smaller trees are the way to get alot of resin vs. chopping down the larger trees just for resin. it makes it far easier to make the repair item for tools and weapons.

Also headshot matters for animals. Yellow damage means headshot.

Yes all benches craft out of all chests in your base, so make plenty of dump chests. That cave is a death trap. 5+ enemy encounters all at once. Try not to spam in the combat, and retreat and use the corners to block arrows. The better arrows are in the leather strip bench for some reason, and they take flint, so go back to the beach by that statue for more. My bro and I are playing the shit out of this game. :D

The Lost swarms aren't too bad if you keep the main tips in mind: always sprint for the nearest cover to break line of sight from archers and javelineers, after an enemy misses an attack they're vulnerable for 2-4 hits before you should reset, avoid keeping your shield raised as it halts stamina regen, also you should have Cooked Meat and Stamina Salve running when entering combat areas.

You can CRAFT out of chests using the crafting benches. You need the mats in your inventory to BUILD using the hammer or when loading a bench to refine raw mats. My biggest issue with the game is that it's very easy to skip progression crafting on the main island. I went from bronze gear right to top tier ambrosia without having to do one shrine quest. Skipped gold, silver, iron and steel.

There are 2 caves one small and easy near the temple door and the harder cave which is the one u stepped into. Chests around the island unlock various recipes- u can make better arrows but i couldn't tell u which chest it is i don't remember. This is just a wide overview of some of the basic mechanics, u will be building a portal to teleport to the main island from this "tutorial" island.

If you are referring to the Braziers of Apollo, then yeah, he should definitely light those. At the moment they'll act as rapid health regeneration zones, but he'll have to backtrack to them and light them all anyway for a future quest.
